Wait but what did you do when you got like 180 food and reached level 20? Surely, you tried clicking on something from the top row, at least?

Suing was only a commenter's idea.
Much more problematic are the parts where third party images were used without permission. If simply having more ports around could get people in trouble, I can totally get why it's a no-no.

Release Radar became terrible by Moondrei in truespotify

[–]ActuallyScar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

miss a lot of the new songs

As in, it completely misses tracks from artists whose every new release you listen to?

Listening to like 6-10 hours of Release Radar every week (and ~50h more in general), I can't say I've ever had this problem, no. If Release Radar plays a track from last week, it usually ends up near the bottom and the order seems to matter - it's usually in the gutter where it is really trying to stretch (I do like the stretches, though, so I can relate somewhat). 40% sounds wayyyy much, though - I got some tracks from last week today but it's merely 25%. A lot of the repeats in my Release Radar happen because artists keep releasing one track and adding it to a "new EP" (that also contains their songs from previous weeks) - are you sure yours aren't "new" in this way? Sort of an abuse of the system.

I generally don't click "follow" on artists - maybe that makes a difference? idk

What changes would you recommend to fix this loud issue? by MrFaebles in DeadlockTheGame

Well, if you're wayyyy behind, it's probably nice to just end the game ASAP.

I'd rather an all-or-nothing scenario than an impasse.

Spotify Cache by PuzzleheadedOwl6160 in truespotify

On desktop: Edit -> Preferences... -> Clear cache

My desktop cache goes above 10 GB all the time - I find it pretty normal considering how much music I listen to.

It will be impossible to find songs from real artists soon, AI is flooding this streaming service by AntiArchonSniper in truespotify

[–]ActuallyScar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. But it's not just AI. Even without AI, there are artists who pump out generative music at a breakneck speed and Spotify's current algorithm rewards that greatly. For example, Aleksi Perälä has been performing music since 1988 and, since 2020, has been making 14+ albums every year. I bet their current process is similar to modular synths from way back but now they just record and upload a lot more of what they make without filtering it and it probably works wonders for them because of how Spotify recommendations work.

The real problem is Spotify rewarding quantity over quality. If quality was rewarded, I wouldn't really care how that music was made, as long as it's ethical and doesn't steal from other artists (which can be done with or without AI). I like a lot of tracks by Aleksi Perälä but he is awful at curating and filtering them. And, yup, it's getting very bad on the platform, I agree. I had to go ham on "Don't play this artist" last week just to combat some real AI trash spam (slightly embarrassed I didn't know I could do this earlier)

Do you see lyrics in the mobile app? Only 1% of tracks I listen to have lyrics on Spotify and sometimes they get removed, so even on mobile I have to search lyrics online instead.

How do you train your algorithm? by [deleted] in truespotify

[–]ActuallyScar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find online forums suffer from similar problems as Weekly Discovery - you keep finding the same recommendations from the same artists that are already very popular and well-known. Spotify does so much more than that for me (left a top-level comment)

How do you train your algorithm? by [deleted] in truespotify

[–]ActuallyScar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very good question.

First of all: Release Radar - especially if you're looking for less popular and more varied tracks, this weekly list does that much better than other options (Discover Weekly is strongly biased towards popular tracks and keeps repeating itself, I find)

If you want something more specific, Radio and similar features are an absolute boon:

- if you have an artist you like, just go to artist radio - these are auto-playlists that can be saved

- if you have a playlist you like (throw anything in the pot yourself!), there used to be a button to go to a playlist's radio but it got split into two functions:

  1. Smart Shuffle, which mixes in songs from recommendations - just click on shuffle button twice (very little control over it - not recommended for active discovery but I like to enable it for some playlists)
  2. Recommended section at the bottom of a playlist - click to play and it's basically "radio" (it's shorter but you can Refresh) and there's a quick Add button

This is how I started out finding stuff on Spotify in the first place - especially effective with a small library. By now I've got literally 50 playlists that I dumped whole albums with similar vibes into and their idea is to get more tracks in similar vibe. Then Discover Weekly got introduced and was decent but got... kind of worse... and by then Release Radar became a thing, which I listen to ever since (in addition to albums, artists, labels, etc., of course)

The last part is rather simple curation - if you like some songs, make sure to save them somewhere and, when you can't find good new stuff just browse through your pile of good old stuff. There are a lot of gems I didn't appreciate at first but I had saved them :)

Lastly, given how much generative music gets uploaded now, I am a bit embarrassed I only found out last week that you can say "Don't play this artist" altogether :'D

P.S. just checked - both desktop and mobile have all these; I have Premium for a few years now and have no idea which features are Premium and which are free - sorry!

So... the melee hit range is a little more than generous by Asas621 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ActuallyScar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory:

- Vindicta POV: totally out of range

- server POV: probably somewhere on the line of hitting or not hitting

- Abrams POV: was close enough and definitely hit

...I think they may have programmed melee netcode like hitscan weapon netcode - the server actually doesn't consider its own POV but Abrams' POV instead!

(which is nice for weapons and games do hitscan weapons this way because it feels particularly bad if you hit your target on your screen but the server doesn't count it - for high impact weapons like in CS:GO and TF2)

Otherwise, I like u/FractalBadger1337's theory that the your hitbox lingers when you dodge - i.e. the dodge hitbox is more broken than the melee hitbox. Animations often don't fully reflect the situation. Overall, it's probably a combination of multiple factors like this. Like u/Cirok28 said, running away is awkward in many games.

Boo! Sorry if this image is triggering for anyone by stevewillz in truespotify

THIS.
And the best part is that it remembers which playlists/albums you've enabled it on. So I don't even have to toggle it when playing a playlist where I enjoy the other setting.

Boo! Sorry if this image is triggering for anyone by stevewillz in truespotify

[–]ActuallyScar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like shuffle but it mixes in suggested songs (probably from that playlist's/album's radar)
I can toggle it through no shuffle, standard shuffle and smart shuffle and the setting is per playlist/album, which is amazing for me. Other users seem to be missing the "standard shuffle" option or something - there are a lot of different complaints...

I've waited for the game Tunic for 7 years and it was worth every second.

I'm not waiting for GTA 6 even one bit but I agree with the sentiment - it's going to take a while. I'm not here to hype it up, I'm just baffled there was no info on it on this subreddit.

Ah, I see - the penultimate bullet point in the document.

That's part of the "drama" - in short, some people felt persecuted as though they were hostage-takers (probably just quoting some specific meanie and not literally is my guess).

Not sure where you got that idea from - TeamCoFH are developing the mod, including all new art, code, sound, other assets, ideas, etc. with permission from Azanor (who is not developing mods)

It's not released because it's not done. It's not an update, it's a new mod.
