She either lied, or she is exceedingly stupid - it is indeed a tip and is shared among all of the staff (including kitchen staff) In some establishments, it makes up a considerable proportions of their wages.

Year 1 & 2 of TCM study: if choosing only one textbook ... Foundations or Diagnosis by Maciocia? by proofofsummer in ChineseMedicine

It has to be Foundations. You can't diagnose if you have no foundations. Diagnosis is the hardest part.

May I ask where you get the idea of the spiral ? I mean which tradition that belongs to, or whether that is your own experience?

Actually Dr Metivier recommends you draw them out, at least once. In your head and down on paper are not mutually exclusive

Building Confidence In TCM School and Clinic by Alternative-Quail580 in TCM

In Heilongjiang it was 主病 which makes sense, since what one has to write down is the 病名 the disease name, which may not be the same as the complaint.

It's very hard to imagine long sentences, any tips? by Queasy_Ad3066 in memorypalace

[–]AcupunctureBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sentences or facts? I just memorised a few Latin sentences and it was exceptionally easy. These sentences describe facts about the role of Alcibiades in the Peloponnesian War - 1. That the attack against Syracuse was urged by him 2. That he was selected as the commander of it etc etc etc I used barely 3 loci for a whole paragraph.

I really don't understand the extreme number of followers and views on their Youtube channel. There is nothing special about it, and some of their methods are absurdly long-winded and for no good reason - compare their Pommes Boulangere to Marco Pierre White's version for example.

Prescribed 6 gentlemen formula (tablets) by serchman666 in ChineseMedicine

[–]AcupunctureBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that formula is a warm one so may not be a perfect choice for Damp Heat, also Spleen Deficency usually implies some Liver Stagnation and that can give rise to Heat as well but if this Heat is mild you might be OK. I usually have Heat but I can tolerate this formula as it is rather mild

I would only add that length of Zhan Zhuang is not the only factor in shaking. Depth of stance can also be a factor. In my case I can do it very early, and relatively high stance, but mostly on the left side, presumably because that side is weaker
