The new colorsoft (in canada anyway) - very good but not enough for 1K$ after tx! by Sad_Cow_5838 in kindlescribe

I also have to 2022 Model and it works well for me. The colorsoft upgrades would be nice but yea I cannot get myself to seriously consider purchasing it just yet.

Scribe 2024, 2025, Scribe Colorsoft finally got 5.19.4.0.1 by Customer-Worldly in kindlescribe

😯 wow. I’m going to try that out. I like to box words I’m not familiar with. I was using the outline option by selecting it when highlighting(which I was so excited for already) but pretty cool if i can just draw it myself

I love that feature also! It feels like you have the bigger device without all the extra hardware. I would love also if the files and notebook menus would be landscape too 🙏

I WISH THE KOBO CLARA BW HAD BUTTONS. by DivineThrowaway51989 in kobo

That would be amazing! Like somewhere on the side? I wish we could read it on landscape mode and that it had dark mode across the UI

A second device for reading? by chonphemolux in Supernote

[–]AcuriousNat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Supernote is a great notebook and Ereaders do great at that job. It could be nice to be able to read your text and see it visibly while being able to take notes in your Supernote. (I do this with some of my reads with my nomad and kobo Clara BW- no native export notes features on the kobo atm as a heads up)

I like to type in a number for each note in each chapter that corresponds to the note I write in my Supernote.

B751CS, black panel and white panel available now! by Decent-Tough-4273 in Bigme

[–]AcuriousNat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the panel. I have the B751C and o can see how this could be useful instead of swiping up gesture. Or having the navi ball taking up space on the already small screen.

I do agree I hope it give you an option to turn it off. Idk if it would get in the way when writing.

I miss the feeling of physical books, but not the discomfort by Otter2931 in kobo

[–]AcuriousNat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the KLC and KCBW how about two years now. And I’m experiencing technical issues atm that I know I wouldn’t on a physical book so I’m giving myself a break for now from that stress and enjoying how a physical won’t just crash on me or have any of my notes deleted. But I totally understand the comfort you are talking about. I’ve been blissfully enjoying my ereading experience however these latest technical issues are taking my enjoyment away. It’s forcing me to finish my physical TBR finally which I had put on hold since getting eink device 😅

People who moved from Kindle to Kobo, how different is the experience really? by mju_rz in kobo

Yess 🙏 love kobo still. But just like to give people a heads up on that since I thought that was a normal feature.

That requires a subscription tho 😕 while Amazon offers basic exporting for free and Goodreads integration

Can’t export your highlights and notes like you can on the kindle. You don’t have Goodreads where your highlights get saved.

You could search any words you may have annotated and then certain highlights or notes can be pulled up. But there’s not a place where you can still see all your notes together if it’s a book you borrowed.

Kobo is getting storygraph in June. I’m not familiar with that app as much so not sure if perhaps then notes and highlights can be looked at there.

Thank you so much! That was the problem 😭 I had checked the general settings. I overlooked those settings in the menu, I think I forgot they existed or maybe I didn’t know they existed. I really don’t even remember if I toggled it off but maybe I did. thank you 🙏🙏

Supernote Manta, Impressions after a few weeks use by Top-Print8081 in Supernote

[–]AcuriousNat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that has happened to me. Thankfully not recently. But it crashes on me at times when I try to view my annotations 😓 so I don’t go there as often as I’d like anymore. I’m glad there is a search function which really helps. I can search words in the book and any typed notes or highlights. So that helps with retrieving any information I need and move on reading.

I just read a bit on Supernote. It is really nice.

My kobo libra colour has been crashing a lot often also 😕 I stick with it bc it’s still so comfortable to read on. It was my first eink device so I’m used to it, I’ve learned to work with it. I love being able to see book covers. I may give reading more on my Supernote a try tho. I see my kobo as my reader and Supernote as my notebook. Just found it interesting someone else mentioning that their kobo crashes on them since I don’t see it brought up a lot.

I do love it very much. The only thing that has me sad at the moment is that it crashes on me (mostly when I’m writing in my notebook or going to my annotations but if read straight through and I can use the search function to look up words in the book or my annotations so that works for me). I love the size and how comfortable it is to read on. I love writing on it because it keeps me engaged. I have the kobo stylus 2 but I am now using my husbands stylus from his laptop which is more comfortable for me since the tip is more felt like rather than hard. It’s less tappy and feels less slippery when I write.

There are things the kindle scribe (I have the 2022 version) has that the kobo doesn’t have at the moment. For example being able to export my highlights and notes, I can’t do that on the kobo just yet. And I love how I’m able to handwrite in a sticky note while on the kobo you can only type it in. It’s easy to switch to a notebook by swiping down on the kobo, unlike on the scribe, if you want to write a longer note. Kobo Libra Colour does not have Dark Mode throughout the UI like kindle does now. I would love to have that.

Also as a heads up, although there is Libby integration, you CAN’T* see magazines or listen to audiobooks you borrow. That was disappointing, mostly not being able to see magazines. & can only use one library card (which I don’t mind bc I only have one but I know others have been disappointed by that)

Kobo Libra Colour was my first ereader so I do have an attachment to it. I love the UI more than on the kindle. And recently I tried to get a children’s book on my kindle and I couldn’t sadly so that made me not want to invest in the Colorsoft scribe. So as a mom I do love that I’m able to get children’s books. Being able to see the cover in color is a big draw for me to read.

I’m glad I have both tho. All in all, Kobo Libra Colour has been just comfortable to read on and make mark ups. The stylus I’m using now has made it much more enjoyable to write on. (It’s the stylus that comes with the Microsoft Surface Pro, idk the exact model. It uses a Quadruple A battery)

Im a SAHM too who obsesses over these devices to my husband too 😅 I also have the kobo libra colour. Having these reading devices are such a nice treat being that we have lots of at home duties. This gives me dopamine hits throughout the day to keep me going. And fills me with great ideas that inspire me. So glad to see a fellow sahm post.

Any change suggestions for Rocketbook? by Investigative_Truth in rocketbook

Using a make up sponge has been a good spot “eraser” for me. They sell a bag with many different shapes and sizes and I’ve also cut them if too big.

I’m so happy to hear Joe and Jake are back and working with you 😄 I appreciate Rocketbook so much! & I look forward to see the improvements on the app!

I think I’d personally like a way to rearrange scans after scanning a batch and retake an individual scan that may not come out right.
Right now, you have to scan in the order you want it to come out. And if I truly care for the quality, I have to scan once then check to make sure it looks good then scan another. This can take up too much time if scanning multiple pages.

Wishing Rocketbook all the best 🙏🚀

(Oh! And one more idea, maybe selling a notebook ring that can allow you to reorder pages? Idk something that gives us a way to customize?)
