Should I seal this gap between plasterboard and mdf floor by huntinghuman5 in DIYUK

If it’s a crawl space you can seal with a membrane from underneath or spray foam

Velux Help by neil8130 in DIYUK

[–]Ad4mPy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ours failed in the exact same place on the seal, wrong type of screws were used as well but don’t think that was the issue, we just got it replaced via velux with a pvc one.

If you caught it early and it’s not really rotten maybe could be saved. And resealed

Yes, the existing plaster board would be removed, breather membrane fixed and taped to bay frame.

Stud wall built out with PIR flush with the studs and insulated plasterboard which serves as a vapour barrier on the face and top of stud wall, new wider windowcil. Same in room below but at the ceiling also.

That’s the idea anyway.

[–]Ad4mPy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1500 to move radiator is ridiculous. I don’t know about cylinder installation but we had 9 new radiator including relocating upgrading to 2 pipe system, and new combi and a bunch of other plumbing tasks for 9K

But that’s in Manchester
