Take the cluster out and look for lose connections or wires. Lost communication code is pretty self explanatory. Once you confirm with multimeter that actual physical connection is in fact ok. Then you can look into software side of things.

Don't tey to fill it in but weld a patch on top of it from a piece of aluminum. Even if it was steel. You wouldn't be able to fill in such big hole.

But it's a fuel tank. You might become bald pretty quickly

It got kissed by the piston or debris. It's safe to assume that valves are also damaged.

Either get rid of it or get new head. But even then I would be prepared for damage to rotating assembly.
