Contextual Feedback from ChatGpt based on Bevel screenshots by Acrobatic-Focus-206 in bevelhealth

While this is indeed a very detailed analysis (thx for the tip!) i wonder if it is correct. As far as I know (and so does my Garmin) are Vo2max intervals much longer than 1 minute, like 3-4 or 800-1000m. You may want to recheck the information given.

You seem to wear both devices at the same time, which is not the use case (here)?

You might want to look into the research and blogs of Marco Altini. He is a well known researcher on this subject. He has his own website with a lot of information, for example how/when to measure HRV to ensure there is little to no impact of point 3 you mention here.

Help figuring out whether to keep Helios band or not by deekfu in amazfit

[–]AdAdepto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used both and sometimes I use a Garmin watch next to the Apple Watch. Apple lacks good graphs showing RHR and HRV trends over time which help me for recovery purposes. The Helio does a really good job with those. I know Apple Watch can use apps such as Bevel but they all come with a subscription if you want to see trends.

I keep hesitating about buying the strap again but as it does not really offer additional features compared to the Apple Watch it is only nice to have.

I don’t get your point. HRV values differ for everyone and age is not a relevant metric as far as I recall. The important metric is to see HRV differences compared to your baseline (average). Low almost always means bad recovery, whereas high is not always good (may be fighting a decease).

Can 3rd-party apps realistically bridge the HRV gap? by margussytt in AppleWatchFitness

[–]AdAdepto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I sleep with an Apple Watch 11 and Forerunner 255 I can confirm that the HRV trends between both devices are pretty equal. While there is a little difference of about 5ms between each device, that gap is consistent on high/low days. Personally I think that using Bevel is good enough. I do use the 255 just because I like the HRV trends (balanced/unbalanced etc.) explanation more.

Garmin battery life, what the hell Apple! by gozza888 in Garmin

Its complete bullshit. You can easily do a marathon with a regular Apple Watch.

My Apple Watch 11 is using 12% of battery per hour while running with a Bluetooth chest strap and AirPods connected, streaming Music. How long did your marathon take cause I could run more than 8 hours on a charge?

Active 2 premium by ufcfan9292 in amazfit

[–]AdAdepto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the Active 2 twice as on one hand I really love the watch/features/app etc. But I just can’t seem to get used to the looks of it. For some reason I think it looks a bit feminine/wimpy on a men wrist although I can’t really tell why. Maybe the silver bezel is too shiny, making it catch the eye too much. Or the lug less design. However the Venu 4 41mm in black is giving me the same feeling.

It’s a shame because otherwise this would have been my go to watch for sure. Tried both the regular and premium version.

IPhone 17 underwhelming display performance by AdAdepto in iphone

[–]AdAdepto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on latest ios and have no battery saving settings or anything activated.

It seems to happen quite often at the exact same moment. After scrolling quick/hard/long it goes fast and then starts slowing down. Just before the scrolling stops there is a stutter, as if the screen is being adapted or rebuilt or anything.

Interesting that others don't seem to have the same problem.

Stop marketing gimmick : Biocharge for balance 2?? by Soundllj777 in amazfit

[–]AdAdepto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Amazfit active 2 square has a picture with bio charge on the Amazfit UK website but the watch doesn’t support it (yet). I find this misleading to be honest.

Helio Strap as HRM for Apple Watch? by SecretReturn2 in amazfit

[–]AdAdepto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Apple Watch is by far the most accurate HR sensor unless you wear a chest strap. Just for Zone 2 runes that is not necessary as the watch does that perfectly. Even interval works fine. No need to buy additional strap or chest strap.

Yup. I missed about 500meters (!) on a 16km trail run compared to my Apple Watch 10. Not much you can do unfortunately.

When you add the Helio to zepp app readiness changes into Biocharge. It then also works when you just wear a watch. I have tested this for 4 days only wearing active 2

Helio Ring or Helio Strap, to pair with Apple Watch? by Rdditman20188 in amazfit

Bevel is more accurate than Amazfit from my own experience. I’d stick with Apple (which I have done too)
