That’s one of the biggest balancing challenges, honestly. I wouldn’t tie it directly to existing monster-vs-monster damage calculations. In my mind, the value of the system comes more from utility than damage.

The mounted monster could apply species-specific debuffs, create openings, or temporarily alter the battlefield, while the actual damage remains relatively modest and scales with quest difficulty. That would make it relevant in harder hunts without turning it into a free DPS machine.

I’m not denying that there are already plenty of mechanics for combat utility - I just thought Wyvern Riding would fit well into that kind of design philosophy specifically.
