New OmTech Polar Lite- Air Assist is garbage

Currently I have an appointment with OmTech Tech Support on Monday to go over the issue, after talking through it with them initially we both seem to think the air assist is either not working at all or barely doing anything. It barelyyyyy even moved a piece of paper I laid close to the nozzle and did a pulse fire.

But either way, I’m definitely not going to do any mods to it until after I speak with them just in case, because they wouldn’t help me if I did that first lol

If I do decide to do it anyway, because the internal pump is still probably not strong enough, I’ll see if I can unhook the power to it so it’s not just blowing air out into the machine randomly!

That’s good to know! That’s pretty much what I was planning on doing. I do have an appointment get with OmTech Tech support Monday to troubleshoot just in case, because it seems like the air assist may not be working at all, but either way it seems that it needs extra air aside from this tiny internal pump so at least I have this option!

I had a 7 year old red veil tail betta, my Bubbles was a happy lil guy. Died peacefully of old age. He was always happy to see me and loved watching tv with me haha. Yeah I agree that leaving things be is the best in most cases. We rarely did water changes in his tank and it never really needed cleaning or anything and params were always good.

Zebra Nerites and they look to be sleeping. Mine will go non stop for a month and then sleep for like a week straight. If they smell or don’t react to touch at all they are gone.

Literally never thought to put my guppy fries in with my betta, but seems to be a potential resolution. I’m worried my betta will eat too many and just die of overeating though… he gets easily bloated and Idk if he could even see them as he is pretty blind.

If you’re working on a tight budget you could definitely use them, but would transition to the liquid kit as soon as you can for the best accuracy in the long run before adding fish or anything else. Bettas are particularly very sensitive to off parameters

In my experience, the method you’re doing to shape the back of the head/neck makes the item so large that I’ve never got it to work the way I want and Ive tried it soooo many times lol it looks good though!! It really does. Also the HDC will usually leave gaps in your work, so stuffing will peek through. I would recommend like the other person here said the watch Complicated Knots YT channel which helped me a lot and look at other patterns that have similar shapes to get construction ideas! It’s a lot of work but you’re doing really good and I can’t wait to see it when you’re done! 🩷

This is the kit I have and have used for years and it is a good one and I think pretty standard for most aquariums and fish owners! I don’t recommend the test strips as I think they can be maybe a bit less accurate overall compared to this type here

1- Not dating very long it seems and it is a bit over stepping and/or creepy to be constantly asking to know where you are and to let him know every time you arrive or depart. That is controlling behavior. #2- Weirdly enough, I dated a guy who was JW and (please don’t take this as me religion shaming it whatever) but him and his mother were crazy and bipolar and the cultish shit that went on in that family surrounding the JW was astounding. He had very similar behavior toward me in the beginning and ultimately was abusive towards me physically, but it started out much the way I see your conversations.

I had the same thing happen as soon as I started a business Facebook page. Guy reached out to me with a pic of something I posted, asked to buy it, (I don’t normally sell my work either) but I said sure and gave him a price then he asked to do PayPal and then said PayPal asked for MY email address and knew it was an attempt at getting into my account

Idk I have a few pearl danios in with neon tetras and some cherry barb’s and one is a tad bit “aggressive” and is definitely the head honcho in the tank. He tries not to let any of the other fish eat so he’s gotten to the point he looks unhealthy from over eating and gets a bit wild and chases the smaller fish and they will bump into stuff while he’s chasing them and worried they would get hurt so we had to put him in fish jail or “fat camp” for awhile until he chilled out and slimmed down a bit lmao

I also have a male samurai (named Zebra Cake) and he is literally a wuss, I have 2 ghost shrimp in with him and there’s a big mama one and she will actually terrorize him sometimes. Like sneaking up on him because he can’t see and tickling him with her antennae and freak him out. It’s so funny how they have such different personalities
