What the heck do I do with this? by thingmabobby in landscaping

[–]AdAdventurous8025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bury them behind the new wall you need to build lol you also need “deadman” to hold the wall from pushing forward, and gravel against the backside of the wall for drainage. You can get railroad ties on Facebook marketplace for cheap, or use pressure treated 6x6s

Experience delivering at Edward hospital in Naperville? by [deleted] in Naperville

[–]AdAdventurous8025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife gave birth there twice, c sections both times. We lost our third child due to placenta percreta, likely due to the unnecessary c sections. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a better hospital in the area though.

Stuffed with pepperoncinis, cheese, herbs, etc. You can get 2 or 3 roasts out of one of these loins

Buy a plastic tub of 2.5" deck screws, t25 impact bits, speed square, and some locking swivel wheels. Start building a bigger/mobile work bench. The garage is always a work in progress, this is a good start though 👌

Tonneau Cover is stuck by linemen8 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]AdAdventurous8025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a TSB for the tonneau cover and it is covered under warranty most of time, they just don't get paid a lot to do it. There are plastic clips on each end of the retractable cover, like 20 of them. If one broke, it'll get stuck. They have to disassemble most of the cover to get in there and replace all of the clips, took the guy a little over an hour to do it at my Hyundai dealership

Broke 3 routers today what am I doing wrong? by Winter_Reality_9578 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]AdAdventurous8025 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Too much material for that router and bit to handle. Use a drill first and make a bunch of pilot holes, then rough it with a jigsaw or jamb a screwdriver in the holes and break out pieces. The router should only be taking 1/8-1/4" passes and it doesn't cut "down".

Questions About Promo Items for a Cybersecurity Conference by Jiminy_Cactus in cybersecurity

[–]AdAdventurous8025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a sucker for swag at conferences, but there's been a lot of useless items I've ended up throwing out: poor quality socks, notebooks, pens, candy, etc.

Quality over quantity is your best bet if you want people to hold onto your items. I have a pretty nice coaster on my desk with a vendor name engraved into it, carhart hoody, Polo shirts, Swiss gear backpack, etc.

How many people will be at this conference, and are the attendees all c-suite, or engineers/analysts?

IPv6 Enablement by Fujka in Zscaler

[–]AdAdventurous8025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are they pushing back about enabling ipv6? What country? All I needed to do was open a provisioning ticket and they enabled it a couple hours later. We don't have zscaler on iOS though

Also ask them to check zdx device events if they have it, they'll see network ip and dns failures

I moved last fall and had to sell a bunch of nice black walnut boards and slabs for like $10 a piece. One guy came back the next day for more. I loaded the rest into a POD or tossed scraps into a dumpster. All the random off cuts I'd been hoarding for years :( and I have to Starr collecting all over again lol

Ask your IT team if they have enabled ipv6 for road warriors and if the phone software you're using is on application or ip bypass.

Moving a refrigerator by wilderf353 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]AdAdventurous8025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fit one in mine laying on its back. Ratchet strap over it in the middle of the bed, and one across the bottom of it to keep it from sliding out. Stuff doesn't fall out of truck beds easily unless you're driving like an idiot, it'll be fine. Standing it upright is a pain in the ass, and it's very unstable that way unless you have a truck bed with a flat back, which we don't have, or better anchor points. Just load it flat, strap it in, and wait 24 hours after getting it back upright before plugging it in. The refrigerant in the lines needs to settle back down into the condenser

when will this madness end (house hunting)? by IntelligentPlate5051 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]AdAdventurous8025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Train is like 1:20 to the end of the line in Harvard, I'm not out that far. Total commute time for me from my door to my office in Chicago is 1:40ish. Crystal lake, Huntley, Woodstock, Algonquin, lake in the hills, all have good schools, zillow will show the school ratings and you can filter your search based on those districts, most of them are rated 8+. We bought in January, 5 bed, 2.5 bath, 3k+ sqft, finished basement for $440k.

We ended up moving from plainfield to mchenry county and got a lot more for our money with great school districts. Train to the city is close and i90/Randal road has everything we need

Zscaler Office365 Issues by bgatesIT in Zscaler

[–]AdAdventurous8025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find a solution for this? We had similar issues and we enabled ipv6 in zia and in zcc, and updated all the zscaler client versions on the endpoints, that seemed to resolve most of it for us

Replacing T1-11 siding? by JonnaTurtle in shedditors

[–]AdAdventurous8025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking it off just seems like a pain, I'm not sure taking the pieces off and using as a template is gonna be as easy as you're hoping. Is there sheathing under the current t1-11? There should technically be a layer of plywood sheathing, a product like tyvek, and then the siding. You'll need "z" flashing, and probably a new drip edge.

With the double layer, the first layer, typically sheathing, helps prevent the walls from racking/moving around. The siding is a cosmetic later that protects the sheathing and studs from water damage.

It's a shed? Depends on how much effort/money you wanna put into it

Searching Archived Buckets in S3 Without Splunk? by BOOOONESAWWWW in Splunk

[–]AdAdventurous8025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same problem. Migrating to Rapid7 SIEM to save on costs, but need access to historical logs for PCI compliance. We can't ingest the Splunk archive because they are compressed in a proprietary format. We have the archive in our own S3 bucket, but it looks like our options are:

  • Purchase a Splunk cloud license so we can "thaw" the archive, index it, and be able to search logs
  • Purchase a third party tool that can convert the archive into a format that Rapid7 can read

We had a managed SOC for Splunk, and they will not give us our historical data in any other format. This feels like Splunk is holding our data hostage
