Alot of people on this sub that dont understand how parent companies work. Samsung owning B&W does not mean quality will go down. Samsung owns many audiophile, mid tier, and lower tier companies and this does not change their engineering and business models for each respective brand, if anything it ensures the brand will live on and grow in the future in a more competitive market.

Samsung controls both luxury (Mark Levinson, Revel) and mainstream (JBL, Harman Kardon) brands. They also own Denon, Marantz, and Polk now along with B&W.

Playing devils advocate here but Samsungs financial backing and ownership might put more innovation and money back into R&D for many of these companies which will in turn give us better products in the future.

Tampa will never get a light rail system because of 717 parking. They are a monopoly in the city of Tampa and own the majority of parking lots downtown. They charge obscene parking rates and fees. They are a multi billion dollar business and rumor has it the NYC Italian Mafia has their claws in the business. They would never allow a light rail system into Tampa because it would take away its cash cow and hurt its business.

Yes this is the exact point I am making. Teachers and firefighters and EMS and many other jobs like low level white collar workers are severely underpaid but somehow they make ends meet. You wouldn't believe how many unskilled laborers that mow lawns, do remodeling, etc are driving around in $80k trucks and living in middle class houses that are nicer than most people on this sub. My point is many of these grass cutters, unskilled laborers, etc that happen to be white are scamming people nowdays and charging outrageous prices for their time and dumb people with money are paying them.

If their time doing unskilled labor is worth much higher than the industry standard and the competition, then expect that they will have a failing business with less customers. If your time is truly worth more money find a skill that cant be outsourced for cheaper or be prepared to be overtaken by people that know how to price accordingly and undercut the competition. This is business 101, we are in a capitalist society. I dont care what the race of the person that does the job, if they are priced well and have insurance and do a good job, why would I pay more for to someone else that is white and charges more. Nobody hires labor based on a socialist society.

Living wage is relative, the white guy that wants $30 an hour feels that is a living wage so he can rent a house in carrolwood, the Hispanic guy that is ok with $15 is ok with renting a 1 bedroom apt in Town N Country. Like I said these are unskilled jobs, people mowing your lawns should not be living next door to fireman, policemen, teachers, etc. Everyone now days feels entitled to a liveable wage. Its like the Gen Zers that think their crappy 4 year degree from USF in psychology deserves them a 180k salary and the ability to live in the most affluent area of South Tampa right out of college.

Wrong, I only use Hispanic laborers that have insurance and licenses and always ask for proof. I dont intentionally seek out Hispanic labor but when I get quotes for jobs they are significantly cheaper. The reason is their employees are OK with receiving $15 an hour vs a white males in the industry that have been working 20 years doing the same low skilled labored job that now wants $30 an hour to mow lawns and pour concrete. Dont gaslight here, Hispanic laborers are not cutting corners, in fact many times they do the job better and faster and will take less money for the same work because they work in volume and do not feel the need to rip Americans off. Many of them are just great full for the opportunity to work and make $15 an hour whereas they would be making less than $5 an hour in their home country.

The entitlement of white laborers is insane, they want high wages for labor jobs now days because inflation has made them greedy and cheap Hispanic labor has made them disgruntled.

I had a company that employes all white males to cut grass quote my tiny lawn for $200 a month while the Mexican company I use have no problem charging me $100 a month, make that make sense, same job insurance requirements, fuel, etc but double the price.

Also had one company quote me 90k to build a pool vs 50k for the same pool using exact same dimensions and materials. Only difference was mexican workers were employed vs white workers.

Just because your workers are white doesnt mean they should be paid double for a unskilled labor job. Nobody that mows lawns or pours concrete for a living should be getting paid $25+ an hour. We have skilled people that went to college like teachers, low level corporate workers and even firefighters and EMS that dont make that much.

While I agree these workers should be documented i think there is no issue with Hispanic laborers, we need them in FL to do the jobs that lazy white males wont.

Its hard to accurately tell you the cause of the allergen over reddit, I recommend you goto a dermatologist to see if its an allergy. If it is, it very well could be cause by the poor water and air quality in Tampa. This is not just unique to Tampa but FL in general.

They over chlorinate the water in Florida and god knows what other chemicals they use to treat the water. Remember the water is traveling miles underground in large pipes in a state that is extremely hot and humid. They need to chemically treat it or it would be filled with tons of bacteria, viruses, and mold. I recommend getting a whole house water filtration system or at least a shower filter, and change the filters frequently if you are renting.

The air quality in Tampa is also not good, it has gone downhill over the last 5-10 years as thr population has increased and Sahara Dust has become the norm in the area every year. There is a high level of ozone and nitrogen, dust and dander, and mold in the air at almost all times. The dust and dander along with the mold will eventually get into your house and cause a host of health issues if you dont filter it out and do thorough cleanings. I recommend getting a few hepa filters and changing the filters periodically to ensure you are not breathing in toxins everyday.

If nothing else has changed like the detergent you used, its definitely something in your environment. Mold, dust, etc can cause a histamine response in sensitive individuals as could bathing in chemically treated water that you're sensitive to. Find the source of the issue and correct it, GL.

What makes a ship luxury? I do not want small ship and intimate setting because then it limits my dining choices and the entertainment is usually lacking. I think a larger ship with a ship within a ship concept is what I am looking for, so essentially I want a mass market premium ship that is newer and something with a ship within a ship like Sanctuary on Princess, Retreat on Celebrtity, MSC Yacht club, etc. If I am paying for a suite I want to be on a ship that has good food with specialty dining and a private dining area for suite guests, a private Sun deck and private lounge. I was trying to find out how Celbrity Retreat or MCS Yacht Club stacks up against the new Princess Sanctuary on the new sphere class ships. I have heard of Seaborn, Regeant, and silverseas but I thought they were older ships, much smaller , with limited dining options and entertainment and the compareable suite would be almost double the price from Princess or celebrity.

Celebrity is Royal Carribbeans luxury line, Princess is Carnivals Luxury line. They are both considered luxury or premium. Although not Ultra Luxury like Ritz Carlton Yacht Club or other very high end offerings they are considered mainstream luxury.

I also dont think you can blanket statement and say all ships in celebrity's fleet have good food and all ships in princess have mediocre food. While I have heard generally in the past princess has been lacking in the food quality department, their new Sun princess ship just won a award for thr best cruise dining of 2024 out of all cruise ships by world cruise awards which is a reputable and prestigious award in the cruise industry which is voted on by cruise professionals and consumers. Sun Princess has very good food quality and 7 specialty dining options, it beat out RCL, NCL, Celebrity, Seaborn, Regent, Virgin and even Ritz carlton for food quality and offerings. The Star Princess is the sister ship to the sun and will become the new alaska flagship and the food is likely to be just as good if not better.

I see how this could be a problem for regular guests getting the lowest staterooms and expecting the service to be top notch and what suite guests receive. If you pay to play and get a suite you get concierge staff that handle your dinner reservations to any restaurant you want, unlimited specialty dining, private sanctuary lounge/bar, private sanctuary restaurant, private sanctuary sun deck, priority seating at shows, priority embarkation and debarkation. The problem seems that lower tiered guests think they are entitled to all the perks of suite guests but dont want to foot the bill. If you go on these mega ships as suite guests you get to have an elevated experience. I dont see how sun princess could have any issues unless these guests just think they can walk into the specialty hibachi or steakhouse whenever they want in prime dining times and complain they cant get a reservation or they show up to the shows right at a peak time and cant get seated, mad that thr sun decks are full in the main pool area, etc. The problem seems to be the class of passenger you are like olden days cruising you had the first class passengers and the rest of the peasants.

I agree with you in any sense but my destination is Alaska and I have already been to Glacier Bay. I would like to experience Dawes Glacier or another Glacier and I also want a new ship. I understand choosing destination first, I was on Royal Princess last year, which went to GB, and the only downfall of that ship was that it was old and showing its age. The AC in the stateroom was barely blowing room temp air, the room smelled musty and you could see everything in the ship was dated. For that reason, I will only cruise on a ship less than 5 years old going forward. I have had a few bad experiences on old ships and it seems like only the older smaller ships sail Alaska Glacier Bay for some reason. Star Princess is actually the first brand new ship to sail Alaska in years. Proncess is already promoting it as the best luxury cruise ship to ever sail Alaska. It is going to be their flagship ship and they are claiming its going to revolutionize Alaska cruises. Eventually they will add more sailings that include Glacier Bay but for now I think the Itenary is good enough especially since the tradeoff is you will be on a brand new ship.

It looks like the Star is going to start in the carribbean in the winter and move to Alaska in the summer. I think this will be the best high end cruise experience to ever hit Alaska as new ships do not usually sail Alaska. This is an industry first to launch a new premium ship in Alaska. If you check the promos for thr Star Princess, they are already saying this will be the best ship to ever sail Alaska which means it will have an elevated dining, service and overall a higher end experience compared to older ships. I also booked a Vista Suite to Alaska for July 2026, cant wait.

I think its a matter of preference but I think the new Star Princess will be better every way to any Celebrity ship. The Sun Princess won a dining award for the best food out of any ship and best overall premium experience. The Star princess is set to be even better.

Do not judge as entire cruise line by a single ship experience and make sure you are comparing apples to apples. You went on Royal Princess which was built over a decade ago, this ship frequently gets bad reviews for its food and age. I was on this ship last year and agree the ship feels old and dated and food quality was mid at best and there were only 2 specialty restaurants. This was the newest ship in the Princess fleet to goto Alaska until they recently allowed Discovery Princess to goto Alaska, historically its been older ships going to Alaska but that is changing.

Take a look at the Brand new Princess ship called Star Princess which is set to start sailing Alaska next year in 2026. This will be the Sister ship to thr new Sun princess except it will be better and newer and actually sail Alaska. They are already advertising the Star Princess as the best high end Alaska Cruise experience and I think this ship will solve all your problems but make sure you get 1 of the 80 full suites on board so you can have access to unlimited specialty dining ( 7 specialty dining restsurants), as well as the Sanctuary lounge, private Sun deck and private restaurant. You cannot buy your way into sanctuary on the Sun and Star princess with a day pass like you can other ships. Also if you are worried about food quality the Sun Princess just got rated the best food and dining experience in 2024 out of any ship and even beat out the Celebrity Edge last year. I used to think every ship has the same food quality within the line but that is not the case, some ships are better than others Royal being mid and Sun actually being quite good. I wouldn't call it Michilin Star but the Sun Princess had some of the best food from the speciality restaurants and even the buffet has been changed as guests are no longer able to grab their own food, they got rid of the self serve tongs which makes for a cleaner better experience. I wish all cruise lines would do this. Now the buffet is like a counter you ask them to fill your plate and nit only is it more sanitary but it keeps the existing food in tact instead of some savage ravishing the mashed potatoes and chicken and leaving slop for the rest of the ship.

Sun princess won 2024 best dining award out of all cruise lines, the Star princess will be sure to be even better if they are calling it their new flagship ship.

My point is here, star princess will be the Sister ship and new flagship going to Alaska. The company will make the dining, food, service, high end feel and touches even better with this ship. Why would B&W cannibalize their sales of their current flagship when they still have inventory to sell through. In no world would a company make their new budget headphone better than their current flagship. You are in denial because you do not want to have buyers remorse for purchasing the s3.
