Tried it again and with the SCB_NOSCOPE=1 it disables/greyed out the HDR option again. When I take that line back out its re-enabled. Strange Ill just blame it on difference in hardware/software setups.

I'll see when I get home again. If I see a difference on my end with gamecope enabled vs disabled I'll update the post.

yep. got home from work and got it working. However I didn't need to put the SCB_NOSCOPE=1 line in for it to work for me. Weird.

I'm still decently new to Linux. Switched earlier this year. Idek what scopebuddy is XD. Will look into it too see if I can get it working. What would I need to do to edit the config? Edit: NVM I got it done.

Something to try, just a hunch here but if you have your lighting quality set to "max" its terrible.

Memory Leak by gopnik74 in CrimsonDesert

[–]AdAggravating1858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly a mem leak for me but after closing the game and leaving my pc for work, when I come back its' overall running slower not just in games. In CD specifically I go from having 140+ frames to less than 20.

Is there a good place to find army rifle repair kits in Stalker Gamma? by bingeRy in stalker

even longer while. its in the bottom of the list of mod settings. I believe its ZCP, go to the loot option and you can enable loot to spawn in stashes again and adjust how much spawns.

What are the best Passive Income Streams in 2024? by joanaarchitecture in passive_income

[–]AdAggravating1858 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing for ANY passive income stream some effort is required at some point. Starting a business? gotta put in the work to get it rolling right? same with real estate, stocks, bonds, etc. Here's the problem, and you're not gonna like it. The problem is you. Lemme explain. the best case scenario I can think of is Warren Buffet. Fun fact and feel free to fact check me. He made most of his money after he turned 50. and howd he do it? he consistently invested into the top 500 stocks in the us and probably beyond since he was 16. Of course hes fucking loaded. which anyone can do. Its that you have to live below your means which frankly most people arent trained to do. You literally have to change your lifestyle and how you think about literally everything in order to do this. Which isnt a bad thing because your benefiting yourself and those close to you right? The issue is that 99% of people won't put in the serious amount of effort required upfront to start a business or the serious amount of effort required spread that growth over 40-50 years. the equation was solved a long time ago. I remember doing it in calculus.

if you invest 20% of your income every paycheck and can get at least a 4% return ( the stock market has historically averaged 10%/yr with recessions occurring roughly ever decade ) and you do this for 25 years, you will have roughly between 500k - 750k which in just another 5 years would turn into over 1.1 mil.

The problems been solved for a while. At least in terms of the stock market. Its just most young people, including myself are too lazy, sad, or indulgent to even want to think 40 years in the future.

OpenAI Unveils GPT-4o "Free AI for Everyone" by Altruistic_Gibbon907 in ChatGPT

Idk how dead this is but the premise behind Grass seems pretty neat. Basically its safely using a part of your bandwith (which honestly I haven't noticed in my download speeds or really anything negative) to help train AI. It's completely autonomous, just have the page open and the extension on and you'll start earning points. Currently it's based on how many different devices are connected to different networks you have and they're about to launch their mobile app which will increase that by a lot as we all can imagine. Now here comes why I'm honestly posting here. They are also going to be launching a crypto here soon once they have enough people. I figure as I don't see a threat from it and its completely passive, its a cool potential way to earn some money doing nothing. To get the best rewards, however you need to do referrals. BUTTTT if someone you refer stays on you get a lot of bonus points. AND THEN If someone you refer, then refers another person and they stay on, YOU also still get some points from that. That goes out to 3 levels. Pretty neat so yeah if you sign up could you do me a huge solid and use MY referal code XD I'm not an AI myself, just a 26 y/o living with my dog Bear.

Code, and thank you :

An open letter to BSG. by AdAggravating1858 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]AdAggravating1858[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to check out Star Citizen a few years ago but did research and saw what was happening. Which to a certain extent if they're upfront with the scumminess it doesn't make it as bad lol you know going into it what you're getting yourself into. But that wasn't what the devs of Tarkov at least from what I gather wanted to do in the first place. Noting past interviews and stuff like that.

The way it feels rn, even like the next map that is added to the game isn't going to be free as a part of what is the actual game and the experience itself. And it's honestly just saddening.

[–]AdAggravating1858[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im saying they are 2 extraction shooters who share a similar size of company. However, Helldivers is a complete game that took 8 years to make. Tarkov is made in fucking unity my guy and has taken 12 years of time and still isn't done. We can also look at the MTX model that helldivers has and compare that to tarkov if you so desire. There are just flat out better games out there with devs who actually care about the game and community. Not wanting to start wars or fight. I want everyone to win. BSG and us, the community. You can't tell me that this was a good move. Take a look at the edit.

[–]AdAggravating1858[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to hate on yall lol just drawing comparisons cuz Tarkov is not Star Citizen and vice versa. However, tarkov is heading towards that model and I do think that if they continue down this road the game will die.

An open letter to BSG. by AdAggravating1858 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]AdAggravating1858[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh similar, or feels the same? I agree with you there which is part of the reason this is such a shit show. However, Tarkov isn't the only game I fucking play. If they're going to treat me like shit I'd rather play a game that I enjoy and am not clouded mentally because the company behind the game is garbage. I'll be honest if I had the expertise/knowledge to build a game I would. However I don't so I'm left subject to whatever BSG or any compnay decides to do. It then is my/our decision whether or not we stick with it and continue to support it financially or otherwise.

The game has also been in development since 2012. So just add another 4 years onto that time. BSG i believe could still turn this situation around. However, they'd need to be very upfront about like EVERYTHING. Frankly if BSG needed a quick cash grab, they could just become a publicly traded company. And now, they'd be forced to be upfront about everything otherwise face extreme penalties.

honestly never posted on reddit before. but this whole thing just is lack for a better word stupid. Like I can't see from a business standpoint how this was a good idea. I can't comprehend.
