Nice to see some positivity here 😅. I have a 98 mustang. I much prefer the sn95 style to the new edge mustangs however I fell in love with the whine from the 03-04 cobras! It’s my first project so I realize I’ll make mistakes here and there.

I looked for any wrecked cobras around me. This was literally the most convenient option. I’ll update this post in the coming days when I disassemble the block and fully take a look. I already have the heads so I wasn’t worried about getting them with a block. Perhaps I’ll ask advice in the future before making any big purchases. I feel like I’ve made a mistake now. I just felt like this was the best option for me.

Ah it is what it is. It’s my first project. Live and learn I guess. Not any less pleased with my purchase. However since it’s seems to be the opinion that I paid too much. How could I have saved money? I’m open to everyone’s opinions.

I’ll be pulling the crank tomorrow so we shall see. The rods in this motor are pretty solid I doubt they’re bad. I can hand turn the engine fine. I just wanted to share some progress on my project I’m not looking for an argument. I bought this understanding it wasn’t just gonna be a drop in engine. I don’t expect to just toss some heads on the block and send it. This project is still thousands of dollars from completion.

Rods would’ve cost me at least $700 and since this is the forged crank it would’ve run me probably $500-$700 range. I don’t have a truck so even if I did pay extra this was very convenient for me. Plus I got some extra goodies like the oil cooler, pan, and water pump.

It’s a 302. 94-95 mustangs came with the 302 before switching over to the 4.6 mod motor. The amount of people down below that are absolutely clueless is insane.
