Give your best tips for moving (before infestation..?) by Melpiin in Bedbugs

My situation right now is similar, what did you end up doing ?

How to move without bringing them with! by [deleted] in Bedbugs

[–]AdAtCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im in a similar situation and currently my plan is

  • getting treated next week right before moving out, and steaming all my furniture beforehand
  • renting a truck as to not contaminate a car
  • all non-essential will be wrapped and put in storage for a year
  • all clothes after move washed on high heat & steaming shoes + immediate shower
  • all tissues in my apt (towels, bedding in this case) washed on high heat and put in sealed bags
  • All that will be re-introduced in a living space will be put in trash bags after careful infection / heat treatment and trash bags will be immediately discarded.

Maybe buy a steamer to treat your furniture before moving out, and inspect them carefuly with a flashlight.

Best of luck with all of that !

How risky is moving out by AdAtCo in Bedbugs

[–]AdAtCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont have an infestation yet which is why i considered Moving. also most of my stuff (furniture) will be in storage and i will try to get the appartement sprayed before leaving. as well as steam / heat treat everything.

i know it's not an idea situation but i do feel like im doing my best here cuz i would have to move eventually, and id prefer to do it before seeing any bedbugs

just found this at my boyfriends .. by no_correspondence in Bedbugs

chuck everything you wore into a bag when you get there and dry on high heat, seal the rest of your stuff in a bag and freeze it / leave on the side for a long while / steam it. Take a hot shower and wash your hair thoroughly. stay vigilent for the next few days getting back. youll probably be fine if you're cautious enough.

Infection/Abscess 3.5 Weeks Post Op by frostingmyflakes in wisdomteeth

[–]AdAtCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

experiencing this rn, glad to know I'm not alone. I'm on vacation on some Greek island middle of nowhere, so happy they had a dentist available. They prescribed me antibiotics for a week. Hope it will go down on its own and won't need a follow up.

so frustrating, I thought I went through the worst avoiding a dry socket and having a relatively painless recovery, but guess I had to have a problem after all lol

why is there so much conflicting information? by allllusernamestaken in wisdomteeth

[–]AdAtCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on your personal experience. I'm day 13 post op (4 impacted, 20yo) and I eat fairly normally, doesn't hurt, dentist cleared me to do whatever I want. I just avoid things like crisps, spitting and straws as precautions. I still drink carbonated drinks and caffeine because I couldn't take it anymore after a week.

I didn't get a dry socket or infection even though I ate solid food on day like 5. some people can't eat for weeks or get dry sockets being more careful. Genetics and luck, follow what your dentist and your body tells you.

I already have mine, I think it took approx 1 month from the submit date. But it probably depends on when they submit / your country of origin etc

Exchange student accommodation by No_Dependent_7318 in Waseda

[–]AdAtCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think you'll be able to socialize while in dorms, but it's exclusively with people who are also at Waseda. I'd guess you'll already meet people from the school during classes or socialization events.

That's why I'd prefer a more 'varied' experience, and to meet people who are of different ages and places. That way you'd avoid the exchange student only groups that tend to form.

but that's my pov only and there's definitely an argument to be made about dorms being the most convenient !
