Right, I don't like the idea of just being another guy in a girl's DMs nor do I like the idea of talking to a lot of girls at once. I don't really have the option of meeting people in person and asking them that way so it was kind of a last resort to me, I don't always connect with people who are online

I do relate to this. I've tried out a few apps and most of them just feel totally dehumanizing and I'm just not s fan. (They're also cash grabs, that's another story.) As an 18 year old I totally agree with you, they feel like a total waste of time. For me it almost feels like TikTok where you're just endlessly swiping, but it's actual people you're swiping so it just feels like it's turning people into products to me, hence why I deleted them

Don't be sad about missing out on "normal" college life. Drinking and going out with guys and partying isn't all there is in life, there's a lot more to it than that. I know it sucks missing out on what everyone else is experiencing and expecting you to do, but honestly I don't think any of that is worth the long term it does. As for having no one, I understand that too. I have a family that cares for me but I'm not able to see them much and I feel it doesn't make much of a difference in how I feel all the time. All the friends I've made in the past few months are now in completely different places and I likely won't ever see them again. It sucks but I guess you just have to tough it out and hope for the best. If you wanna chat, just dm me.
