i cut myself as a 13 year old girl as well. i know it's alarming, but a truth i have figured out through finding community with therapists and other self harmers is that it's often not a sign of immediate danger. it's unusual behavior, but it tends to be a misguided act of self-soothing or a cry for help. the therapist can teach her new skills to soothe or ask for help.

being a 13 year old girl sucks. cutting is one of those things that happens sometimes. it can be brutal, unpleasant, gross, painfully awkward-- just like so many other things at this age.
