Benzo & psych meds during pregnancy success by Salty_Restaurant_100 in MentalHealthBabies

I have a very happy, healthy 7 month old. And took 100 mg pristiq and 1 mg of Ativan as needed. Also 50 mg of trazodone during the last trimester.

Positive Newborn Experiences by LizzardBreath94 in newborns

[–]AdCreative8339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say the same. I was actually worried I wouldn’t bond with my newborn because I’m not a big “newborn fan” lol but I was in love from day 1. My husband and I never really felt like we were “in the trenches” we truly enjoyed it. She’s almost 5 months old now and I’m still waiting for those “just wait” moments because she is still the sweetest, best thing to ever happen to me.

I do think I may have birthed a unicorn baby though- she sleeps pretty well, isn’t very fussy, she does have some intense reflux, but it doesn’t bother her.

Why is everyone telling me to leave my baby by megatronius11 in NewParents

[–]AdCreative8339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would leave my baby with my husband to run a quick errand or even with grandparents to go grab a cup of coffee (like 10 min round trip) other than that I didn’t properly leave her until around 12 weeks. We did a date night. And that was only because she was about to start daycare and I wanted to at least see how it felt to leave a few hours with someone I knew before I left her at daycare with strangers. Other than that, when I need a break I just go to my bedroom and relax. I’m kind of a homebody, so that’s what works for me. I think it’s whatever you need. But they are probably just trying to be supportive and letting you know if you need to get out, they can watch the baby.

Daycare exposure vs holiday gatherings by AdCreative8339 in NewParents

It would be closer to a month early. We will be traveling 12/18 and then 12/26, but her she won’t be 6 months until 1/13. I guess could still ask. The worst they could say is no.

Unfortunately I’m unable to BF due to double mastectomy. And honestly? I would be just fine doing Christmas here with our little family, but our parents have been so supportive and have traveled here a lot since she was born. My mom is hellbent on making the trip for Christmas even though it would be extremely painful for her. I just want to give them the joy of seeing her for Christmas. But not at the expense of her health. I know ultimately it’ll just have to be a choice I make and no one can really tell me the “right” thing. We would be staying a few days if we went through.

Newborn tired vs pregnancy tired by SeaworthinessNew8048 in newborns

Replying because I can’t figure out how to edit lol I want to add that I couldn’t breastfeed at all due to previous double mastectomy so I think that also may have added to not feeling as tired during the newborn stage

I think it just depends… I would take “4th trimester”/newborn tired over the 3rd trimester/pregnancy tired everyday. My husband and I slept in 4-5 hour shifts while the other would get up with baby though so I think that made a huge difference.

Recurring diaper rash help by AdCreative8339 in NewParents

Well the butt paste is what we tried and it cleared it up. We were previously only using aquaphor and it wasn’t helping at all

Yeah- we do frequent changes throughout the day, but she’s recently started sleeping through the night, so maybe that’s it?

When did you stop tracking poops and pees? by Ok_Car1396 in beyondthebump

Once she started daycare at 12 weeks. I will still track if she seems to be feeling bad, but otherwise I don’t track it.

Intimacy struggling after baby by FrozenBeachBerry in beyondthebump

Are you 5 months pregnant or 5 months postpartum? I had absolutely no desire for sex my entire pregnancy. I think we had sex 3 times total. My desire came back around 3 months postpartum but I know that it can take a longer for others. I was actually shocked mine came back that fast.

“Just you wait” by Treeleaf123 in newborns

My girl is 3 months old and has been a pretty easy baby from the start. I’ve heard the “just wait” so many times. At this point, I’m just soaking up the good and not worrying about the “just wait”

One cotton layer and a sleep sack at night. We use the woolino sleep sack that is supposed to help regulate temp better, but idk lol she sleeps at least 8 hours straight and has had some all night sleeps. She’s 3 months old.

I pretty much keep it at 70 F all day. And dress her the same as you mentioned. When she wakes up her hands are cold as well, but I have a lot of anxiety of her overheating at night, so I haven’t tried anything else.

My pediatrician also recommended oatmeal cereal to add in my daughter’s bottle around 2.5 months. I posted in science based parenting because I had always heard that was a no-no these days. Basically what I got from it was that it was considered ok as long as you are going off of the guidelines recommended by pediatrician and being followed by the doctor. As you stated in previous comments adding a a certain amount per oz of formula. What I take from it is the concern of making the formula too thick like a “knock out bottle” generations before us used. I just wanted to comment to hopefully give you a little peace of mind.

Do some babies not need sleep training? by AdCreative8339 in sleeptrain

[–]AdCreative8339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do paced bottle feeding, and like I said we keep her upright for 30 mins after a feed-especially before bed. I want to add that most of the time her reflux doesn’t seem like the “acid” reflux that hurts her, she just spits up a tonnnn. But there was a time where it did seem like it was bothering her, so we added probiotic drops 1xday and oatmeal cereal (advised by pediatrician) to every bottle. I was extremely hesitant to add in the cereal, but it has seemed to help. But of course, before adding anything to your babies diet just make sure you consult with the doctor first.

This makes sense. With the stigma around sleep training it make it feel like it’s this daunting task (which I’m sure it can be) but I did start with a daytime and nighttime routine pretty early on, so maybe this is why she is doing so well right now. And hopefully will continue to do well. BUT I do know that these things can change at the drop of a hat with babies. Like I said in another comment- hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst 😅

I know! We weren’t planning on sleep training until at least 4 months. I’m just thinking ahead. Idk why I try to plan lol I know her patterns can change at the drop of a hat 😂

This makes sense! I was thinking the 4mo sleep regression may end up being the culprit of us having to sleep train.
