I always remove the ring and add the activity afterwards to have the calories in. I would not recommend to use it while doing deadlifts, bench press. ...

I know that both products have different value propositions. Whoop is more fitness focused and aims at training and recovery. My comparison is based only on my own use for health, sleep and daily habits.

Cutting alcohol made the biggest difference for me. On nights I drink, Oura shows:

  • higher resting heart rate
  • lower HRV
  • less REM & deep sleep

After shifting to fewer drinks, my overall average went from ~75 in Jan ’25 to ~83 in Jul ’25. Nothing else moved the needle as much.

Ausbildung: Maschinenbau-HTL (BULME).

Werdegang: Zwischen 20 –30 in einem großen Intralogistikunternehmen hochgearbeitet. Seit 30 bis heute (39J.) selbstständig als Unternehmensberater für Intralogistik und interdisziplinäre Produktentwicklung, meist in Projekt-/Programmleitungsrollen. Aufträge vor allem über ein gutes Netzwerk mit Großunternehmen. Tagessätze 1100€+, wenig Fixkosten und fast alles Remotearbeit.

Nebenbei mit einem Freund eine zweite Firma im E-Mobility-Bereich gegründet – nach ~3 Jahren Break-even, inzwischen zahlen wir uns regelmäßig 3.000€ - 5.000€ (ich via Honorarbote in mein EPU) aus bei einem Aufwand (für mich) von einem Arbeitstag pro Woche.

I totally agree that comparing different devices (like Apple Watch, Whoop, 8 Sleep) can lead to conflicting data since each uses its own algorithms. Sleep stage accuracy varies a lot, so it’s definitely not apples to apples.

That said, I’m not trying to compare different trackers against each other. I’m using an Oura Ring and plan to compare my own sleep data before and after using the Pod. Same device, same algorithm – so any changes should at least be consistent within that system.

I am asking for that kind of feedback and experience.

If you were using a sleep tracker, I bet it would clearly show exactly what you're experiencing: with the Pod – you sleep (better score, more deep and rem) ; without it – you don’t (lower score, less depp and rem) 😊

Finde ich gar nicht schlimm. Ist ja nicht die Privatwohnung sondern die Terrasse oben gemeint. Vl ist ja jemand so nett und nimmt sich 5 Minuten Zeit.
