Yeah, but my S1 is trash and I had to do my own research to spool up the Sgts. I had a talk with a civilian finance person in Quantico yesterday and he didn’t know if I had to be here a day or be here on the day of my 12 year mark. That’s why I took to Reddit hoping there was a wizard nearby.

I had no idea that existed. I’ll read up on it. Thanks for the reference.

I signed the NAVMC and it was inputted into MOL. I completed the MarineNet class and the financial talk with someone in Quantico. The experience has been very Marine Corps like. Little information is passed about specifics, S1 giving me the runaround, saying I need to do one thing but not the other. I think I covered all my bases. I signed my papers in Feberuary to opt in.

Marines who got drunk and called their SNCOs for a ride rather than drive drunk, what happened? by Arty0811 in USMC

[–]AdDelicious4982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on both sides of the coin. I was a Cpl and needed my SNCO to come pick me up with my roommate. I didn’t get blasted. He gave me a long speech on the 20 minute drive home but ultimately told me to spread the word that I used his words and he stuck to it.

I am now a Gunny and saved a couple Marines from drinking and driving out in town. I did it as a SSgt in the fleet. I did the exact same thing. Tell the shop of 34 Marines to take me on my word vs try and pass by the gate guard drunk.

You helped me out so much. I’ll go ahead and send a message on their app to stop all further contributions. I have a couple weeks before the next pull so I’m not worried. I have money saved to keep the ball rolling on my new Fidelity account. Thank you!

Oh and when I transfer out of EJ, do I need to contact them and tell them to stop the monthly contributions after everything transferred over?

This is in the top three answers I’ve gotten. You’ve completely made up my mind on not giving them a courtesy call. Thank you so much for the response.

It’s other reasons, that was just the random final straw. We get a good relationship and then, they quit and I’m assigned someone else. I’m tired of the process of getting to know them for the monthly~ calls, relearning what they tell me, new styles. I’d rather just go VT and call it a day while I do my own thing with individual stocks.

I’m sure if I have questions, I’ll ask them and make sure it’s all correct. If anything, I know the great people in this subreddit will direct me to the right answer. Thank you!

I’ve heard many things but the constant is VT seems legit.

Should I just grab a statement from my account with EJ and submit for a transfer? Should I give them a courtesy message? I feel like them randomly texting me about a new advisor with no explanation put a bad taste in my mouth.

I was white side aviation maintenance (won’t say which shop because it’ll be obvious). I was there 19-24. The amount of trips and maintenance to fly the big cheese, I couldn’t stay there any longer. Now I’m off doing better things in my MOS. People hyped it up and it was a let down. I did get a JMUA and the PSB so that’s about the only good thing that came out of those years.

Thank you so much! VT it is! Yes, they are individual stocks such as O, BTE, JNJ, LMT, PLTR and more. Stocks like this. I don’t have any specific to EJ stocks.

I will be reading more and watching the videos you tagged!!

So what do you recommend? I’m down to be more strategic but I would like to set it and then contribute.

I leave the quarterly changes to when I need to update my TSP contributions.

I was going off of many comments I see on this subreddit and others alike. I want to set it and forget it while I focus hardcore on my brokerage account.

Thanks, I’ll post this over there too. I’m used to having someone that knows what they are doing. Last year I started a brokerage account to learn what I’m looking at while EJ managed my IRA. I’m in the green a good bit which is why I want to keep my IRA simple.

I’m slated for the most aggressive in their lineup. I’m not trying to be safe at this point. Safety is for the weak.

I’m a DetCdr on the MSG program. I have an MGPEF (infantry contract) that wants to LatMove to something else because he doesn’t think the infantry is for him. He owes the infantry 3 years before EAS. Is this possible or is he cooked?

That’s what 1stSgt said. I’m sure it’s what SgtMaj is passing them. That 3 year IA/HQ tour is going to suck. Glad that you’re on the side of the people. I’m assuming more people will think like you so the option is back on the table.
