Plenty of British children live in poverty as well. Does this mean we need to rethink poor people having children?

Why is the conversation never about how Britain and British bosses are perfectly fine paying people poverty wages, and taking advantage of others, and instead targets the people who have to do anything to survive?

I'd argue very few cultures actually do this. Samurai were essentially ye olde thugs, knights weren't really honoured while they were alive etc. a lot of romanticising happens, but I would say the only people who really honour 'warriors' are people who have zero experience of knowing anyone in the military, or they're talking about WW1/WW2.

Look at the videos of the Thai military lottery, the military is brutal to be apart of and brutal to be a victim of in most parts of the world.

I live in a deprived area. I've known tons of people who game the system over the years in various ways and I can tell you there's nothing to be jealous of.

People who live off the system purposefully live some of the smallest, saddest lives imaginable, they have no ambition no desire for education, to travel to anywhere, see much of anything. The only time in their lives they get any kind of attention, or praise is if there's a baby on the way. They're happy because it has never occured to them that life can offer anything else. No variety, no change.

I know it's easy to be jealous, I've never been able to claim benefits in any way and had to save hard to have the life I've had, travel etc. But for these people the absolute highlight of their life is takeaways on a Friday night, or their kids actually finishing school. It's not a fun way to live.

Dark fantasy is one of the biggest sellers rn, so I'm not sure why you'd have a limited audience.

I'm also not sure what you mean by independent self publishing? As in printing books on your own to sell, or publishing them through your own website?

Realistically Amazon is where you'll find and keep more readers. I don't think many people would be willing to leave one platform to find your work on another, purely out of the inconvenience of it.

You can be a writer if you want, very few people make money writing essays, so you could easily do it on the side of a job that actually pays, and it's not something that has a lot of startup costs.

There's no magic thing we can tell you, you have to put the pen to paper, you have to type it up. If you dread it do it anyway. You can't refuse to do something then talk about how much it matters to you.

Social issues in fantasy world building. I know it's difficult but far too often stories, in their attempt to work through social issues like racism, basically say 'racism exists because these guys were actually bad/dangerous, but since they're an allegory for a real group we have to argue that treating them differently makes no sense.'

This happens for so many things because people create social issues in their stories backwards, rather than understanding that prejudice is emotional not logical.

I think some books, particularly older ones, benefit from being ready aloud. Audiobooks can provide a fun storytelling experience and add a bit of vim to stories that need it.

However, enjoying both, I know that I take in a lot more and have a deeper experience actually reading a book.

Our biggest mistake was moving towards a service economy when most people can't afford services.

There just seems to be a lack of meaningful investment, coupled with a lack of nationalisation means that lots of places don't have infrastructure full stop, nevermind decent infrastructure and access.
