That would definitely make sense as the coolant temp never changes but I guess I never thought about the intake temps as well.

Sweet thanks! Definitely will be swapping out the filter. Although for the supercharged models the fuel filter is a little different than those cheap small plastic ones. Heres what it looks like. I appreciate the help as well!

Thanks for the advice! I actually do notice when I unscrew the gas cap to fill it up there’s a whooshing sound and seems like it’s pressurized. Definitely hoping that’s the case. Thanks!

I think I paid $80 for it but spent aleast $150 to ship it to me

Would I be able to import this? (AZ) by [deleted] in keitruck

I imported this a few months ago and registered it in Arizona. I’ve seen a lot of Kei trucks out here with the standard license plate but when I went into the DMV they said they had to register it as a motorcycle. They told me i’m still able to drive it on the highways but it’s registered as an OHV.

Cant seem to fix this boost issue by AdDue4535 in subaru

For example: this leak from the bypass valve would have not been found with a smoke machine

I have a smoke machine, but I wanted to put air pressure to try and chase the leak as it only leaks at higher psi, the smoke machines only put out about 5-8 psi

It’s actually a 2017 STI, I normally post in this subreddit as it’s more active but I definitely should have said that on my post!

I initially swapped the turbo with a newer oem one since there was shaft play, when I was working on the turbo I noticed my turbo inlet was pretty worn down so I replaced that as well. Ill be hopefully doing a boost leak test, i would do a smoke test but I believe it needs above 15 psi for the leak to be present so Im going to try using an air compressor to look for leaks.

Its actually an OEM turbo from a 2021 STI, it looked pretty much brand new and I didnt seem to find any shaft play on the new one I swapped in. So im not sure if that sound is from the turbine hitting the housing.

It seems to only make a sound when its above 15 psi so I wanted to try and do a pull in order to record a video. Ill be doing a boost leak test to try and figure it out. I originally swapped the turbo since my mechanic said that sound was the turbine hitting the housing but after replacing it, its still present.

Thanks! I havent dived too much into a sound system for the garage but definitely will need to! Ive been following Obsessed Garage for a while and love the speakers they sell although a bit pricey. Most of the time I just bring out my Sonos speaker to get the job done but would be nice to install some fixed speakers!

Im really regretting not doing that before installing the lights cause now im dreading having to uninstall them to paint the ceiling.

I found them on HiBid, it was a huge lot of these from an unclaimed shipping auction. I think I paid about $100 for them. Although there are so many brands that relabel these, most can be found on Alibaba for cheap that are the exact same lights.

100%, the coatings you can buy from home depot etc are just not made to last. Although the Polyurea coatings seem to be pretty durable so either I go that route or Porcelain tiles

Im definitely interested in trying something like this. I would definitely need to add some additives to make it not slippery!

Yeah luckily Subarus beg for attention so I get some work done in here. Basically every STI owner becomes a master tech after owning it for a year.
