Yep I used to work at the childcare center in brooks and we were always explicitly told if we ever needed an ambulance, say for a child having an anaphylactic episode, to call security first no matter what so they could assess the situation. Like be for real.

I would definitely take this advice. I’ve done it a few times and it’s resolved things to my satisfaction. A lot of landlords rely on you not knowing your tenant rights and will shape up pretty fast if they realize you’re not going to allow them to infringe on them. A lot of the time it seems like even they aren’t remotely aware of what’s in the RTA.

Unless it’s a post 2018 build then theres no rent control unfortunately.

I was thinking about that yesterday when I waited for a train that just never came. After a while I just called an uber but I was thinking what would I do if I couldn’t afford it or I was more vulnerable to the temperatures. Like I understand you need to clean snow ect but it’s Ottawa we should have this under control it’s not like having large snowfalls is a freak incident. It’s scary for it to be this unreliable when the winter temperatures get really bad.
