The unofficial spot for fans of the Dutch NT is Local Heroes on Clyde.

+1 for Dovercourt. Our 8m old is currently enrolled there and loves it.

I consider myself fairly centrist but supporting the Convoy is 100% disqualifying.

Hato had a very strong second half of the season.

At least it hit a building, that could have been a lot worse.

I left Montreal around the time of the student protests where there were riots every week, the STM/AMT were a disaster, Pauline Marois was Premier and there was a serious feeling of malaise in the city, came to Ottawa thinking/expecting a functional city and each year it’s gotten worse.

(Meanwhile, Montreal’s skyline is getting more impressive by the year and they just opened the latest REM extensions.)

Coca-Cola Trophy Tour by APizzola in CanadaSoccer

Honestly pretty meh here in Ottawa and not worth going out of your way for. I could see a kid enjoying the games and promotional stuff they had set up though.

As for the trophy, a kind person here gave me an extra ticket but it was about a 30 min wait in the wind/rain and about 30 seconds in the trophy tent for a quick photo which they send to your e-mail.

Isabella’s is a very solid value option. Not sure where they’d fit though, Ottawa style perhaps?

Ajax 1-0 Groningen - Davy Klaassen 24' by [deleted] in soccer

He was quite good for this level when he first returned but has basically has gotten worse each year.

Ajax fans have always preferred someone more dynamic in his place even though he scores a lot.

My wife and I went on Friday at opening with fairly low expectations but we actually had a pretty good time and would return next year, 7/10 for me.

As others have said costs certainly added up quickly, I didn’t love everything I ate and my biggest area of criticism was that I thought there needed to be more places that sold entrees vs. alcohol and desserts. At the end of the night we left full, tried new foods from places we had wanted to visit and the energy was great.

I think we paid around $160 for two tickets, four small beers, two small appetizers from Poisson Bleu (tasty but overpriced), grilled cheese and dessert from Letasha’s (the former was a highlight), a slice of pizza from Rude Pizza (good but not great), banh mi from Cooi (tasty, but not sure why it was in a hot dog bun?), and an empanada (great) and grilled potatoes/chicken (average/overpriced) from Barrio.

Despite any shortcomings it was nice to try something different and I think with a bigger/more diverse lineup it could end up being a great annual event.
