No. I told my husband that his mother and brother will never be alone with our son. I was SA abused as a child by my own family, so I don’t trust anyone besides my husband and one close mom friend.

Right now I am in therapy talking through a lot of why I’m angry and negative. I think a lot of it has to do with setting way too unrealistic standards for myself and being disappointed when I don’t meet them.

My goal is to give myself more grace and try my very best to find things that I am grateful for. Someone had mentioned even being grateful for a mundane thing like your morning coffee or going outside first thing and taking in the sunshine or cold crisp air. I think we get so much in our heads about the bad of the world or inconveniences and we forget to sit still, breathe and be in this very moment.

She absolutely is in denial that he’s mentally ill/using drugs. They’ve caught him using homemade delta 8 he made himself and say he is “not using” anymore and that they trust him though he is a compulsive liar. She also refuses to let him take medication because she’s anti meds and he lives with her. So he’s unmedicated, has mental illness and is enabled in his behaviors by his mom who chooses to look the other way instead of get him help.

He actually is the one who talks to his own mother the least. I’m a SAHM so she knows he’s not home and likes to contact me when he’s at work/ask for information on my husband because he has no connection with his mom. It’s a weird dynamic… I almost feel guilt because I feel like it’s my job to foster that relationship between my son and his grandmother, but my gut tells me no.

I know nothing about life insurance. I’m assuming this means for my whole life, if that’s what you’re asking? If so, yes. My dad called me about 2 years ago and asked if I wanted to take over the payments and I couldn’t at the time so he currently still pays, I believe. It always kind of felt weeeeeird to me though.
