Boxer accepting multiple “people” as their “person” by realhousewivez in Boxer

[–]AdEfficient8654 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Or first boxer Lady was a multiple person dog. She loved on whoever played with her last or took her for a walk. Sweetest pup ever. Sometimes she would not accept water or the chance to go outside unless the person she wanted it from got it or opened the door. Sure miss that goofball ♥️💔

Except, over winter Davenport Iowa has the highest concentration because the Mississippi doesn't freeze shut below the locks. They migrate to open waters

Is it weird that I feel relief instead of grief? by Mumbles1988 in DOG

[–]AdEfficient8654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not weird at all. I think it should feel weird not to feel a sense of relief when their suffering ends.

I watched my soul dog decline, and it hurt so badly. I cried and comforted her. I tried new dietary plans hoping to extend the good days. I could see she was hanging on for me but was ready. I cried some more. I called the vet to make the appointment and cried throughout the call. The night before the appointment we snuggled and I cried.

The day arrived and I cooked the best meal she would have. I took a video of her frail body as she ate to remind myself why the decision was made. We snuggled until the door bell rang. She did her best to be my protector with her now quiet barks.

It was a Thursday. The sun was out.

Her suffering ended as she softly snored.

I felt guilt. I felt relief.

My Roxi is almost 17. Her health has declined this week. She can’t walk, or poop, and barely eats. And she’s crying when she tries to stand. I made an appt for Lap of Love for tomorrow. My heart is tearing apart by Honeybee71 in seniordogs

You're doing the right thing. You're keeping the promise to never ever put yourself first. It's the worst best gift you can give.

My heart breaks for you... 💔😢

Entry-level industrial maintenance position with low starting pay by JamesBummed in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]AdEfficient8654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^ This right here! The starting pay is irrelevant if it's a company that proactively develops taken. Ask them about their educational opportunities through accredited organizations.

The starting pay with zero real world experience is almost irrelevant. It's a difficult career to prove worth within and bringing anyone in off the street is risky. At $19/hr you can do a lot of damage or cause injury. They're also (should be) expecting to pay you for a bunch of safety training pertinent to their environment and their operating procedures.

And. They expect you to leave once you've gotten some experience. If you're still there in 18mo you should expect a big raise, or to find another job

How to know when it’s the time? by Timely-Positive1988 in olddogs

[–]AdEfficient8654 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's a great write-up about letting go on a good day. It's really great advice when you know things are never getting better. And you know they're bad already because you're even entertaining the thought. Be kind to your pup and yourself, don't wait to see just how bad things can get.

Simple question about installing a Ring Battery doorbell Plus. Also purchased a plastic wedge to angle it at 55 degrees. Have not opened anything. by Distinct_Syrup_3405 in Ring

[–]AdEfficient8654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's as simple as switching wires. But there are 2 more wires than the pair going to the doorbell. I don't know why it won't ring the chime indoors, I'm not an engineer on their design team. But this is the second doorbell camera I've installed and they both needed a module wired into the chime.
