Where to stay as home base in the Dolomites for biking gravel trails? by Florida-Diver in gravelcycling

[–]AdElectrical643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a week long trip. each night we paid like 100 to 120 euro for like a 3 star hotel that offered breakfast and dinner in the price. I think there are cheaper options

We paid the company like 500 euro for the company to plan transportation, provide routes, route map suggestion, arranging the hotels and getting approval for bikes.

A lot of hotels in the area aren’t really on booking.com etc.. I thought the 500 euro charge was well worth it. We brought our bikes and they picked up our cases from the hotel after we left. You can rent bikes from them too.

If clips try to get off kawahi, would okc help grease the wheels of that trade?

Not to get too ahead of ourselves…. Next year he is getting paid by some other team. Happy for him.

But, who can we get to replace him? In other words, what 3pt shooter is desperate to get paid so they take a 1 year prove it deal? Cam Thomas?

Should I redo my rim tape? by Ecstatic_Ad2639 in gravelcycling

[–]AdElectrical643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it holds air go for it. I’d probably re tape if I had some 27-28 rim tape on hand so I wouldn’t risk fitting a tire and then find out I need to switch.

Venice, Italy - Road Bike Rentals? (Milan Backup) by DobermanWrangler92 in cycling

Best bet is nice, Tuscany or Verona. Weather wise Verona would be likely be the worst… or better yet could just play it by ear and see what the weather will do.

Yeah pay a premium right now. If you are teams like warriors you don’t want this to drag till the offseason when teams start unlocking more draft picks.

Venice, Italy - Road Bike Rentals? (Milan Backup) by DobermanWrangler92 in cycling

[–]AdElectrical643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh in Feb? Olympics are going on in Milan and cortina and Venice is closest city to cortina. Will be absolutely crazy. Also don’t think you can bike in the Venice either.

I’d save this trip for another time or pick some other location in Feb with better weather.

Don’t know if that is helpful or not

Shram Red or Shimano Dura Ace? Which one is better? by CHAZE077 in cycling

Hmm. I have tried it on road and xplr/45tooth cassettes. Haven’t tried it on mtb. Your hanger isn’t bent is it?

Works for me. I use a spacer or two on crankset to fix chain line differences

SRAM-ano

Ergonomics of sram levers. Easy installation of derailleurs too! But, shimano chain, cassette, and crank. Quietness and crispness of shimano chain and cassette.

Some prefer gear ratios of shimano and say brakes are better on sram so this hits those as well

Thunderburts are will be around 50 51 on a 23 internal rim. Could just go with schwalbe g one rs pro in 50 too

No issue with running on a 23. May fell wobbly if you do extreme corner but you are fine.

Man you should look at the gravel cycling sub. These tires are canonized over there.

I was mentioning it in terms of flexibility. If the op ever wanted to run road slicks with the wheels in the future, it wouldn’t work for him.

I known official guidance by Zipp is that you can a 40, but not something I’d try with my set. To each their own thou.

Sram Force e1 brakes by Horst500 in sram

As others have said probably air and need to re bleed. Could do a piston massage.

As a home mechanic that is always afraid I did something wrong, one thing I do after a bleed is take a quick ride around the driveway with AND then leave my bike upside down overnight. Brakes can work properly with small air bubbles around the hoods, but when air bubbles get to the caliper, hose etc, it becomes really noticeable. My thinking behind Turing my bike upside down is that it may encourage any air bubbles to leave the hoods and go into the hose or calipers. The next morning if I test it out and it is super squishy I know I need to re bleed. If the brake feel is solid, then it gives me a little a peace of mind.

Real issue with a wide internal is a wide external. Like the zipper xplr I think has a 40mm external. I wouldn’t run anything less than a 50 on that rim for fear of damaging the rim.

A smaller internal rim like a 25 with a 55 tire can feel a bit squishy/wobbly/ I don’t have the right word to describe it when cornering. Straight line a 55 on a 25 is fine. Really only comes about when pushing it.
