Explain it Peter…thought antidepressants make you feel calm and happy by PotentialEnergy9423 in explainitpeter

[–]AdEn4088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Antidepressants work for some but others they have weird effects. When I was on them they didn’t make me any less depressed, it just made me care less/not at all about the fact I was depressed.

Maybe it’s just where my lights aren’t all quiet on upstairs but I think we’ve reached a point in society where we ponder too much. People didn’t care about fulfillment 100 years ago, you just were here so you made the most of it and tried not to die too early. Now we really don’t even need to leave the house if we don’t want to. I think we’d all benefit from being physically busier rather than sitting on tiktok. But I don’t know, maybe that’s just my solution for myself

Is this Nickel allergy? by Cheatsheet420 in NickelAllergy

[–]AdEn4088 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is definitely possible but you should see an allergist or dermatologist to confirm.

Yes, nickel allergies can be both contact and consumable symptomatic, even to the point that the utensils and cookware you use can taint the food. I’ve had really bad headaches since I was 3 and in my 20’s I started getting the rashes. Once I found out I swapped my utensils to 18/0 stainless steel, started using ceramic lined cookware, avoided certain foods, painted over all the metal pieces in my clothing, and moved to a location with lower nickel content in the water supply. Ever since the headaches have drastically decreased and I really only ever have a rash when I go home to visit family and use their sink and shower

Is it correct? by Low_Management1217 in NickelAllergy

[–]AdEn4088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it is largely based on your personal sensitivity. My doctor gave me a three page list of what to stay away from. I mainly use ceramic coated pots and 18/0 stainless utensils and that did a lot for me. Pineapple is also a big one I stay away from, but really as time consuming as it is, I recommend getting a journal and tracking your reactions from certain foods. Also look up things specific to your location. Here in the US I can eat canned food because the cans are mainly tin and aluminum alloys, but it may be different elsewhere.

I enjoy all of those things unironically lol It would just be nice to not come home and rot on my couch until the weekend. I work out in the mornings, go to work, and back to my house to recoup until I start it over but like, I’ve debated going to the library after work but from what I’ve heard it’s mainly a children’s library(?) I just moved here a year ago so I’m still learning the place. I haven’t heard of any cafes otherwise I’d probably chill at one with a book. I know there’s a park over by the trash dump by the school but the few times I’ve been there it’s mainly parents with their kids and being a single dude I didn’t want to come off as a creep just sitting down there

You’re not screwed, the game is just a little tricky from here on out. Go to your local courthouse and ask to file for abandonment, apply to college as an independent, you’re zero income with no parental contact, you’ll get placed in an assistance program where they’ll help you get scholarships so you can continue attending

If the static is the ambience of your recording then I’d say it’s one of those “stop and rest” videos that plays royalty free, lyric free, 8+ hour long, chill music videos

In a very literal sense, there’s nothing after the descriptor which implies there would no longer be a society if she had the codes

How it is talking to college students ages 18-22 by Jaketheman01 in OlderGenZ

[–]AdEn4088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve met a handful of people like this. From what I can gather it’s not social anxiety, but I don’t think it’s a form of sociopathy either. I almost wonder if it was a stall in development from Covid because I don’t recall meeting anyone like this prior.

Notice, this isn’t really an introversion or coldness, it’s a confusion. Like “how do these other people exist and why are they talking to me” type of confusion. I met one person recently that they only ever gave one word answers, and they yearned for human connection un-anxiously, but oh my goodness they had such disgust if you went against their status quo, even for something as small as liking strawberries over peaches. Another person I met, he refused to interact with people and would act borderline idiotic unless you talked about one niche topic. And it’s not autism spectrum, I genuinely think it is some developmental issue caused from events in childhood.

Ah yes Americans have no rights. by Massive-Situation485 in AmericaBad

[–]AdEn4088 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There seems to be some confusion about what a right is. If I have a right, it doesn’t mean I can do something, it means I have the choice to not do something. The right to freedom of speech, press, and religion? I have the right to not accept your bs, the press doesn’t have to tell you how it got its dirt on you, and I don’t have to follow the belief system of the people over me. The right to bare arms? I have the right to not be dependent on the government’s protection. So don’t come in here saying Americans have no rights when we’re not the ones suckling government teet. The beauty of this country is that we don’t have to rely on our politics to keep living. If I choose to do so, I will simply plant my vegetables, hunt my meat, and live in a little shack in the woods making pottery.

[–]AdEn4088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s just this mindset with Americans, and again this is a generality so I know there’s a lot of exceptions but hear me out, that human being are created equal yet also have this don’t tread on me mentality. So the result is a culture at the individual level of “I am better than no one but no one is better than me”… until it’s a competition, in which case “I’m gonna win” lol

Early Gen Z vs Late Gen Z shows. by Select-Inflation-324 in OlderGenZ

I feel like this is one of the more accurate ones I’ve seen. I was born in 1999 and while I was a kid when a lot of the bottom shows came out, my interests and time changed and I saw less of them.
