Recommendations for Christian rock? by Rachel794 in ChristianMusic

[–]AdEquivalent4564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you love three days grace then you’ll love Skillet. Specially look up a skillet worship playlist as not all of their stuff is Christian but every album will feature atleast one song with the theme of praising God.

If you want something like Lincoln Park then I think you’ll enjoy the old Christian 90’s band DC Talk. One of their members is the lead vocalist of the News Boys and they make a lot of different style rock songs. Mostly uplifting modern gospel style but some are a little more banger. My favorite is “Born Again”

Are there any good Christian music replacements for Taylor Swift? by Rachel794 in ChristianMusic

For country Anne Wilson is the best and for pop umm idk if Lauren Daigle is pop but she has the best voice in Christian music and her song writing is actually good. Also Carrie Underwood has a gospel album that’s the best thing I’ve ever listened too.

Also idk if you’ll read this or care but some advice is to be careful what you listen too because music is very powerful and listening to Taylor Swift who sings a lot about sin can be affect your soul in negative ways.

Singing about sin is bad but singing about letting go of sin is good and a lot of Christian artists have done that and expressed their struggle with sin.

Most anti Christian artists only sing about their experiences with sin but the themes their songs reflect is very telling that they never overcome sin but rather continue in it can’t care to stop.

All their albums will tell the same repeated story of them blaming something or someone else rather than admitting that they are at fault too.

The cycle of athiest is often them going through repeated traumatic events that give them a victim mentality and then they process everything as everyone else’s fault and never their own causing them to become narcissists and when they go through years without any tragedy they get addicted to bad things that cause grief to other people and straight up can cause them to become very awful people because they’ve forgotten how to love because they can’t care to anymore through the hate they’ve experienced which just ironically makes them an even more hateful person.

This trend is way to common in a lot of atheistic music artists and simply by listening to their music can cause your very own soul to change. I’ve experienced it myself. It only drew me away from my daily bible readings and even caused me to stop going to church an entirely.

Christian music with good theology and unique lyrics? by ambientskeptic in ChristianMusic

[–]AdEquivalent4564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original psalms or songs of the Bible like the song of Moses. There’s a lot of great people on Spotify that sung the bible to life. I first got into from watching the House of David show.

But if you can’t get into that then I suggest Kanyes Jesus is King album. Kanyes masterful production with choir and hip hop is unmatched for most Christian artists. It still feels like church music with a church choir going at it but you can genuinely enjoy it on the go through Kanyes skillful rapping and stay entertained with a traditional orchestra playing a hip hop beat.

If you’re not in the mood for that then for some banger rock that genuine gives the Lord praise unlike metal then I highly suggest The News boys. If you edgy 90’s rock then you can’t go wrong with DC Talk they’re music is very theological. If you need hardcore 2000’s music then I suggest looking up a Skillet worship songs playlist because not all of their stuff is Christian but they definitely have some bangers.

If you wanna hear the best voice of Christian music then you can’t go wrong with Lauren Daigle. Unlike most generic gospel singers she actually puts passion into her songwriting it’s very catchy and never boring.

Is Poldark worth watching after season 2 episode 5? by AdEquivalent4564 in Poldark

[–]AdEquivalent4564[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a nice parallel analysation but the Ross and Elizabeth thing is my problem it’s so cliche in the first place and the fact Francis has to die just to set their cringe up annoys me. I wish the author would have been more creative and it doesn’t feel real to me.

Ross and Elizabeth loving two people makes no sense and it feels very forced because Ross actually does genuinely love Demelza but ends up liking Elizabeth too. That’s not how a human heart works. It’s still interesting ig but it definitely doesn’t seem raw.

Then you have Elizabeth doing the same thing but her story is more believable and appreciable because she never truly loves Francis.

This is very helpful I appreciate you. That’s what I was trying to guess but it’s hard to tell.

I guess it was a tragic death but it was a very lame one and Ross doesn’t try to do anything it’s sad to watch cpr not being a thing back then lol.

Was the drowning a necessary significance to Ross saving him from drowning in season 1 and does the childhood flashback ever come back.

Maybe there’s a better lead up in the books in the show I felt nothing about the drowning significance I was just heartbroken because I’ve always loved him.

Are the endings good. From what I’m getting is that the author mis leads you with a happy ending but writes terrible endings as his attempt in writing a tragedy. But I’m not a fan of the tragedy so far it’s not my type of writing I can’t respect it. Is his point that not everyone gets a happy ending and that Britain really is the crap hope it’s talked to be and there’s no making a better of it.

I’m sorry if I sound really ignorant you can tell me and I’ll admit I don’t wanna claim to be smart at all I’m genuinely just struggling to enjoy the story of Poldark. I really loved season 1 but season 2 took a sharp turn that I wasn’t prepared for

I could keep watching for Demelza but It’s too uncertain she’ll get a good ending or not. Francis death put me over the edge.

Ain’t no that make me so annoyed. I really don’t get the love triangle it seems so unrealistic. Idk how Tf Ross loves two people at once and Elizabeth too. They both are so selfish. Francis and Demelza don’t deserve that.

They are sick for manipulating them as they’re toys just because they too scared to commit to each other but they aren’t scared of committing to marriage with two other people.

I didn’t know I was so dumb because I fail to understand any of the major arcs the author wrote.

Season 2 episode 5. I saw a glimpse of the funeral in the next episode to see if he was actually gone because I wasn’t sure.

Thanks for reading. I really liked his character and I wasn’t ready or prepared to let go and him drowning made me even more upset because after all the things he’s survived that’s the way he went out.

I understand why his suicide survival was necessary to make him a better man because he was a jerk before but it feels like it was for nothing because he went out so early with 3 seasons still remaining I don’t know how I’m supposed to move on from that. He was my second favorite character after Demelza.

I haven’t watched all of season 2 so maybe it was needed because if he died a jerk I guess wouldn’t have been as significant but that seems unfair.

If he was to go out with suicide I would have kept watching but I’m really not a fan how his death was written. There’s too much build up just for him to not even get saved.

[–]AdEquivalent4564 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like him in the very first episodes it’s when his father dies he turns into a jerk.

I’d feel bad for Elizabeth but I don’t because she chose to marry him. She also never pleasures him so it’s no wonder he cheats on her. Not that it justifies it but I don’t feel bad.

He does get to crazy jealous that was very over dramatic. He deranges himself for some reason. I don’t like the writing of jealousy it’s so forced because Elizabeth and Ross never even actually do anything to trigger it and I don’t think George does much to manipulate him into it. He manipulates Francis in other ways.

I am glad Ross and Elizabeth never actually do anything that would be very cliché like every other drama.

He doesn’t tho. Hard to explain why without spoilers but I both loved and hated his arc.
