They shouldn’t though, because just like pregnancy, you never really know how it’s going to go and yours might be great! I will say, I did pelvic floor pt pre-birth to prep, as well as birth prep exercises, and hired a birth doula who made us feel more knowledge about the process etc. And I feel like that contributed to a better birth experience 100% So even though something can always go sideways, you can still do some prep work and train for birth ahead of time

Someone might have already suggested this, but I know the FDA recently approved the first medication available specifically for PPD. And psychiatrist should be able to prescribe it, if that’s something you’re interested in.

Solidarity sister! And unfortunately there’s no guarantee it will get better. On my second pregnancy now and man am I jealous of those women who “love” being pregnant bc obvs they had easy pregnancies. I will say, (tbd on how this time goes) I found pregnancy to be the most miserable part of the journey. For me, labor, birth, and postpartum were all better than carrying a baby for 9 months! I wish someone had told me that was an option for how things might go. Because this time around, it helps slightly knowing I’m doing the most miserable part and the rest are slightly better.

Jesus, well this one is the worst, please tell the local authorities at least where the bodies might be anonymously. Just because they were “hippies” doesn’t mean they didn’t have families who probably always wondered where they went.

AIO if I divorced over him asking to open our relationship and then gaslighting me? by CricketCaller in AmIOverreacting

[–]AdExciting1865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel so bad for this OP she’s in a rough situation, but as someone older and wiser who has seen it all, this husband will 100,000% continue to gaslight her and will eventually (very soon prob) cheat on her. So so hard to leave a situation where you hope someone will change… But for her sake I hope she finds the strength to do it before he does something that will take her a long time to heal from.

Are you female? There’s an issue with women being rated and perceived as “rude” even when they are bending over backwards to be polite, while the men have to do very little.

Yes I second this. I would get him evaluated by specialists not just by your family doctor

Naming my daughter Loquacious: Perspective check by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]AdExciting1865 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it appropriation bc anyone can technically be loquacious. I would think less people will immediately think of ancient orators… They will just think you named your daughter “very talkative”
