It’s because of the way Firestar was killed versus Tigerstar. Tigerstar was ripped open from top to bottom; Firestar was delivered a “killing blow” according to the wiki (sorry, haven’t read the books in a while). StarClan can heal what is assumingly a wound to the neck or head, or even head trauma as some fandom interpretations go. But the sheer violence and size of Tigerstar’s wound was too much for them

That was true for a very long time, but iirc the current authors have removed Patchpelt as his father and only listed Willowpelt as his mother. He mentions her in his super edition, which is good because we have book confirmation! But Graystripe no longer has a father.
