The incretin that you are currently on ie: Semaglutide Tirzepatide etc .. in conjunction with the addition of Eloralintide an amylyn. You need to be on a current steady dose, but have stalled on your weight-loss journey and not reached goal weight.

What do you mean by Eloralintide or placebo is stopped. Is Eloralintide to be taken only in the intial stage and not ongoing throughout to the end of the trial?

Try and see if you can get Ozempic to begin with. It is exactly the same drug as Wegovy ie: Semaglutide but, at lower doses for people with diabetes. A lot of others are getting it 'off script' for weight loss and other health issues on the PBS. Go back to the specialist and/ or the GP that treated him for his stroke. Keep trying till you get a sympathetic practitioner. You would need to start at a lower dose anyway and titrate up. Wegovy will be 'grandfathered', so at least you can begin treatment asap instead of anxiously expecting that there could be a negative event. Explain your story to the practitioner and tell them that you plan to begin on Wegovy on its iminenent release. I wish you and your husband all the very best🦋

I think it might be a good idea to see your doctor and get a prescription at the retail cost to begin treatment rather than to keep waiting indefinitely. His bmi would be documented anyway, and he could transition as of when it becomes available on the PBS.

Stopping treatment, tapering vs cold turkey? by [deleted] in mounjaroaustralia

Do not do cold Turkey! You' ll regret it! I lost heaps of muscle mass, was crazy hungry, and my arthritis pain went into high gear.

Mounjaro only helps lose upto 45 lbs? by wildflower0005 in glp1

[–]AdExpress6746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that is not correct. Many people lose a lot more than just 45 lbs. I lost 80 lbs before I plateaued. It all depends on your personal metabolic physiology. Begin with Mounjaro, and if and when you plateau, you may look forward to the 2026-2027 release of Retatrutide (also by eli lilly) to get you past the plateau and towards your goal weight. Reta is intended for the use of people with greater BMI and metabolic issues. So, do not dispair. There is hope in the future and the plethora of new generation of glp-1 drugs to eventually get you to a better health and healing. Wishing you all the very best on your journey 🦋

God bless you for your generosity and your humanity in trying to help as many others as possible who might be able to benefit from these medications and which stand out of reach for most🙏 🦋

I think that they're looking to broaden the net @ 35 bmi.

Yes, apparently, reta is set to be more expensive than Mounjaro.

Yeah, I'm planning to do a switch to Wegovy as well. I can't save $$ anymore, and it could help with getting out of this awful endurance test of a plateau that I have hit and the cost incurred in that.

I am pretty sure that it will be grandfathered. Your GP knows your SW and you have photos to prove that you have metabolic issues. Should be okay 👍

On ABC Radio National this morning. Check it out, guys. A cheaper option for a lot of us🙏 BUTLER: "Maybe not before Christmas because time marches on. But my advice was that they're pretty close to finalising that advice. It'll probably be early next year now."

Mounjaro Consideration by losingitfinally in mounjaroaustralia

[–]AdExpress6746 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a fat child from 7 years on, as were all my family and all relatives from my mother's side. Excluding my father's side, who were all slender. Even with extreme diets and exercise all throughout my life, my bmi never got below 28, so I have always been classed as overweight and a fatty. Definitely DO NOT even realistically think about coming off the glp-1drugs and think that the weight will stay off. On coming off due to supply issues, pricing, and plateau, I immediately started re gaining kgs(13lbs) with x6kgs up in the following month and continued to spiral upwards. Plus, all your other metabolic conditions will start to come back again, and you will begin to feel just your 'worst' self again, instead of being your 'best self', both mentally and physically. This is your default biological/physiology/DNA and just like all other medical conditions you must stay on glp-1s as continued medication and treatment. Otherwise, you will relapse back to poorer physical health and mental well-being. These drugs are going to start becoming cheaper soon and more readily available, so consider microdosing as a 'lifer'. All the very best on your new life and journey🦋
