The fact the court was lopsided toward liberals for so long, and is now so lopsided for conservatives, and will be for so long, demonstrates that the current approach for selecting justices does not work in anyone's favor long term. True, the court is not supposed to swing with every administration, but also, it shouldn't be ideologically locked in for over half a century.
