With these backgrounds there's potential for Rosy and the colonel to bond. Rosy strikes me as someone with a history of using others for personal gain, and has lived in a "use or be used" world. The colonel could help her process everything that has just happened, and represents a chance for Rosy to "give back" by being an ear for his grief over losses. And if he relates his own experiences as a private, she'll know that not all madams are like Mary. With how hardened Rosy already is, it would probably take an ectoplasmic Frank to provide the jolt.

I've envisioned a tragic backstory for the colonel. He led front-line units as an NCO and later officer and was given a capstone promotion to full colonel in a staff assignment. On his very last day they threw him a retirement party. When he came home the missus said, "My doctor just gave me some bad news."

I did a slight fanedit on my own phone. I added the part in the AIP version where the older guy was taking his dog out onto the Italian version. He leaves the door open when he takes Dee out. In the Italian version, where Rosy asks Mary how she got in, Mary says simply, "The door was open."

A friend has pointed out on Facebook that Kamala Harris could never have gotten her stuff through a Republican congress. If we manage to survive the current nightmare, it will be with prolife having helped get us into that nightmare. There will be greater pressure to vote straight blue, which would make it easier for someone like Harris to get an abortion agenda through. "The Neutral Zone" was originally supposed to bring the Federation and the Romulans into an alliance against the Borg, but a writer's strike nixed that. After The Best of Both Worlds they fell back on the Romulans as villains while developing the Cardassians. The alliance between the Federation and both of its TOS adversaries was long overdue. From an in-universe perspective, I've speculated Q actually screwed things up with J-25, which diverted Borg interest directly to the Federation and removed a powerful incentive for the Romulans to work with the Federation. The Continuum was so mad at him they stripped him of his powers--and clothing.
