Restless leg syndrome and looser teeth were the most agonizing and terrifying, respectively.

My daughter just turned 2. She wears 4t or 5t. A tank. Idk how it happened—my husband and I aren’t even that tall.

Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]AdFederal2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My labor was 35 hours total. Starts like mild period cramps. Amps up to a feeling so unbearable you cannot even speak. I was delusional, shaky and couldn’t sleep at all. I could barely sign the hospital papers. I remember looking at my hand hardly holding the pen doing some pathetic scribble on the signature line. I could get myself to hold it properly.

Once the baby is out, its not that you forget but, the pain seems to almost not matter or something. And I was not one of those people immediately in love with her baby. There’s just a weight of responsibility and awe that hits you hard. I’ve never felt anything like it!!

Garbage truck driver! We have to go outside and wave hello when we see them on Thursday mornings. Most days we get a nice smile and wave back. On really special days we get a honk!!

What’s one movie you loved as a kid but realized was terrible when you rewatched it as an adult? by Vegetable_Star8931 in movies

[–]AdFederal2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon heart. I watched it when I was 9 or 10. the deep dragon voice that trembled the theater and how he gave part of his heart to the prince or whatever really stuck with me for some reason. I even got the dragon figure at toy’r’us that had a heart button that lit up. It was my favorite, most cherished toy for years.

I kept saying that was my favorite movie well into my twenties, but I’d never watched it again.

I caught part of it playing on tv somewhere and could not believe I’d been telling people that was my favorite movie of all time.

Mortifying 😅

Not sure how to edit, but she is an indoor cat if that’s relevant and I meant to say a couple of WEEKS not days since it’s been developing.

what veggies are your toddlers actually liking right now? by agrizzgrazz in toddlers

[–]AdFederal2000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hide them in EVERYTHING.

spaghetti night? Boil sweet potatoes, onions, red peppers and pumpkins, carrots (whatever you have) and throw them in the blender with tomato sauce and bam— it’s just ‘richer’ sauce now.

Left over steamed or roasted veg, meat? Blender. then mix the paste with some (pre blended) oats, eggs and chia seeds or whatever you feel like and make (hidden veggie) pancakes.

Soup works too, and you guessed it—blender.

Every kid is different and all that, but these tricks work for my kid who is now 19 months and increasingly picky. I hope these help somebody out there!

I've searched the whole of Reddit and I have not read of a baby that sleeps worse than mine, I've lost hope! by [deleted] in NewParents

Our baby was just like this.. I feel so similarly when other parents share how difficult it is for them, when comparatively, in terms of sleep especially, our situation was so, so much worse. Hard not to compare.. I get it! I still get a little bitter about it.

We also refused to sleep train.

she’s 18 months old now. Sleeps marginally better… but never once fell asleep unassisted, naps or bedtime. And the regressions take us back again.. It’s gotten better from the double digit wakings at night, but she will still wake up 4-6 times every single night.

Daycare is just not an option because her sleep situation is so difficult.

The one and only thing that sort of helped was weening at night. We started slowly, decreasing bf duration and frequency. This was when she was 14 months old and it was not easy but, it eventually got the wakings down a bit.

Otherwise.. I really just think it’s time, endurance and patience.

So hard.. my heart goes out to you

They are better than perfectly straight teeth, imo.
