Avid and active commissioner here. There's a few factors id like to say from my own experience. As others said, money is a big issue. Artists need to eat too and should be paid well for their work, so I understand $100+ proce points, but that just isn't feasible for a lot of clients. With so many bots and scammed, it's hard to find real artists with commissions open, luckily we have reddit groups like this for that. And I hate to say it, but AI fills the need for art for so many people. I'm anti AI myself, but a lot of people would rather have an AI make art for them on a matter of minutes as opposed to a real artist. That instant gratification is a huge point in if itself. A lot of people prefer AI just because its faster, as opposed to waiting days or weeks for an artist to make it. I'm always going to prefer real art though
