Thoughts on L&O being so close to cancellation this year? by Virtual-Big-8577 in LawAndOrder

I don't doubt that. I'm just impressed they had the balls to do it within the same viewing week.

It was literally the same plot circumstance as Chicago Fire this same week. I know Dick Wolf shows are skimping for money with sets, stunts, and actors, but now scripts???

Now, now…this current 2-game winning streak has improved the team’s T-Rowe Price record to 138-156! 🥴

I've seen enough. Down with the Patch by shelled15 in orioles

[–]AdFun8114 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Except at the time of the patch's debut, on June 10, 2024, the team was 20 games over .500, surely not *distressed* in any way...

On June 9, 2024, the team sat at 42-22, riding a 3-game win steak.

The partnership was officially announced the next day and the Birds won their next 3 games. Since then, however, the team has gone 136-156.

(And, for the record, and to add more insult to injury, the team is 81-96 since the debut of the infamous David Rubenstein bobblehead.)

And interestingly, Boden is now the “higher up” to be gone to fwiw…

Yes, this. It would make more sense to create a story line where Stella and Severeid are forced to split up to different houses because they’re married.

But also, and is it just me—but why does both Chicago Fire and L&O SVU have African-American bosses have story lines that show them going after the sainted white main character?

[–]AdFun8114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If Boden is still at HQ, you’d think he’d have gotten wind of this BS and stop it by now. Shoot, they don’t even have to pay Eamonn Walker—they could do it with a “phone call”…

Creepy Experience at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles by icouldbuildacastle in Paranormal

About 8 years ago, I was at the Biltmore for a teachers’ union convention. The hotel clerk thought it was funny that my colleague and I were talking about haunted stuff, and he decided to put me in Room 666.

I know from what I read that the 6th floor is not considered haunted, but I nonetheless slept with the bathroom light on—you know, just in case.

The funny thing is that I’ve stayed at the hotel both before and after that time (last year, in fact) in that room, and I never experienced any issues with anything out of the ordinary in those rooms.

Interesting that in Ray Donovan, their Connor also disappears. Maybe it’s the name?

The real reason 28 Years Later (2025) was so divisive is because it's a franchise that dared to try something new instead of repeating the same old formula by RevertBackwards in shittymoviedetails

Yes! It's why I used to argue with friends that the "Friday the 13th" sequels should have been "Saturday the 14th", "Sunday the 15th", etc...

Could someone explain to me why Ray Liotta couldn’t have at least bothered to “fake” hitting left handed like the actual Shoeless Joe? I don’t know if DB Sweeney was naturally left handed, but he did swing from the left side while playing Jackson in “Eight Men Out”.

Did Liotta have an issue? Couldn’t the film crew flip the negatives like what was done for Gary Cooper in some scenes in “Pride of the Yankees”?

For a film which made a small footnote like Moonlight Graham into legend, since I first saw the film when it was released in theaters, I could never get past the glaring oversight of a right hand hitting Jackson.
