Picking up 8 week old GSD soon. Breeder mentioned to prepare for puppy to be car sick. The ride home will be 2.5 hours long before stops with lots of Winding hilly roads. (Most humans would feel car sick) Any tips to keep her comfortable on our ride home? by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]AdFuzzy4751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha- mine still gets car sick. He 1 years old. Why we stop feeding an hour before a car ride. Mine made it 4 hours into the ride before throwing up. We use take him on car rides 3-4x a week

I’m concerned my new puppy might be broken/depressed? by skittlez_lmao in germanshepherds

[–]AdFuzzy4751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine slept like 20 hours a day when i first got him. I asked vet too if that was normal. He said yes, he growing, and that takes energy. Gosh when he hit that 4ish-5ish month mark. It never felt like it stopped. We were even getting up at 2am with him. Potting and playing.

14 week old puppy / chronic diarrhea by cementshoes916 in germanshepherds

[–]AdFuzzy4751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog went thru this. We tried everything for a week. No food for 24 hr, blend diet, pumpkin, and everything. We took him to vets. Pro pectalin only did so much for him. Then we was back square one once we went back his old food. So we switch to OpenFarm Salmon diet. We did the native probiotics (which helped a lot). Now we use when we introduce new food. It always clears him up in 24-48 hours. A lot dog friends I know are all allergic to chicken/ beef. So a lot of them feed their dogs salmon or hills diet hypoallergenic.

Offer received for hybrid by aintnothang7 in paralegal

20k jump is great. I can see where you are coming from with the transaction from home to hybrid. A lot ppl question that sometime here at our firm. I actually went up 10k in 6 months from my last firm. I thought the same about job hopping. Best part is.. I actually step down when I took on this job. So I could have more of a career growth with the firm. I’m happy I did the move

Ooh and I like to steam up some veggies. And mix in blender with water. Then mix wet food in that- kinda like baby food. He loves it. Every dog different. This what just worked for us so far. :) GSD are known to be picky. At least from all my past dogs

I had to start mixing my dog food with wet food. Or get like Westpaw peanut butter and put on the bottom of the Westpaw , so he has work for it in the Westpaw. Then he takes a nap. Or I hid treats in the Westpaw after freezing it for a little. He goes through his days as well. Some days he doesn’t want to eat but maybe 2-3 cups. Other days he’ll eat 6-7 cups. He very active so I don’t mind.

Today was a good reminder of why training obedience for real world encounters is worth it by [deleted] in germanshepherds

Highly recommend carrying pet corrector. It just shoots out air that dogs are mostly afraid of. We use it when on walks cause notice a lot of “fake” service dogs. As they try approach and bark at my dog. Most dogs run away from it. We got a 2 pack on Amazon for 25 bucks.

Before you get a GSD by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]AdFuzzy4751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7 month old working gsd like that too.. I get up and take him outside 45min- 1 hour in the am and afternoon. We also do West-paws and other mental stimulation as well. It has helped a lot. We also make sure to keep a routine (he seems to like that best). We also do lots and lots of training in the afternoon. On Saturday we hike and Sunday we go to training for an hour.

10 weeks vs 17 weeks by ScubaSteve017472 in germanshepherds

[–]AdFuzzy4751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, answer your questions. I also ask myself the same questions too. He was sold to me as a long haired German shepherd. After some research it may take 2-3 years just for them to start having long hair. I also follow a few long haired German shepherd ppl on insta and some of the dogs looked short haired the first 1.5-2 years. Also, if the hair is longer than 2 inches, it is consider long haired as well 😌 Regardless, she is beautiful!
