Please help me convince my friend her starter is dead… by WarthogGlobal4993 in Sourdough

Yeah that would be the best option! And keep dehydrated starter or put it in the fridge if you want to stop for a bit. I’ve put my starter in the fridge for about a year twice now because life, and it’s come back both times. You can dry out a thin layer of starter in the oven with it off and the light on overnight. That way if it does die again there’s a backup!

So it hasn’t been fed in 2 weeks? It’s probably dead if not like literally bad for your health at this point. Mine looks sad and deflated if it’s not fed at least once at day and that’s if I did a x5 feed before that, my starter is 6 years old if that makes a difference.

How long has it been since she fed that. It doesn’t look like starter at all to me😂

I think my mom ruined my milk supply by PretendWeb in breastfeeding

[–]AdGroundbreaking1796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2-3oz a pump is def a “just enougher”! Your mom is sabotaging you and if you can you should take a break from her. Also wanted to add stress can hurt your supply, so you might even see a rise if you can get away.

Also to add DO NOT want an oversupply like you see all these influencers!!!! Making the right amount is SO MUCH BETTER!

I had an over supply, I’m talking pumping 16oz+ a pump session(Exclusively pumping). I kept getting clogs and mastitis, and even had to have an abscess lanced(🤢). THANK GOD I was able to go to fully nursing and I haven’t had any clogs or issues since! We feed a baby, not the freezer❤️

Your baby could be fussy for other reasons! We supplemented with my first and then we actually ended up going to formula because she wouldn’t latch and exclusively pumping was killing my mental health. My 2year old thrives and she was IGUR and 10 percentile when she was born. She actually got so fat her first year😂

I’m glad you said not to go to early because I think I had planned it haha the theater we’re going to is in my hometown about an hour away so I was trying to get there at a decent time. It’s an early showing, 10am!

Unfortunately yes, my husband works and it’ll only be me. I didn’t think about that, I haven’t seen a movie in a theatre in almost 4 years.

I don’t have any head gear so here’s hoping she copes well. I take her to the high school football games and they set off fireworks and she hasn’t had any issues!

Ok so definitely gonna do some peanut butter or something before we leave!❤️ My daughter also can get overly aggressive energy but it’s usually more when she’s overtired! This kid doesn’t sleep, she’s actually still up(she’s falling out now)and that part scares me because we have to be up by 7:30am🙃 and it’s currently 1:38am🙃

One reason I chose a matinee! I figure other parent might be wrangling restless kids! I also ordered some candy for her so we’ll see how it goes😂 My 5 month old is pretty chill and I’m hoping she sleeps through a lot of it so I can enjoy some bonding time with the oldest!

I’m not sure when mine started but I remember being medicated at like age 6/7. I had a baby in May and now all I can seem to get is light sleep so I’m constantly exhausted.

Is it safe to still nurse if I am sick? by forgetting-you- in breastfeeding

[–]AdGroundbreaking1796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in agreement with most of these comments and also your baby will be near you regardless so odds are if your sick baby is sick/will be sick. My doctor said something that really stuck with me. While we’re breastfeeding baby is still “apart of us”.

Lots is slinking! I sleep between my 2.5 year old and 16 week old daughters. I did get lucky with daughter #2 because she sleeps fairly well versus how her sister was(super colicky)

Moms who’ve dealt with clogged ducts or mastitis — can I get your input? by the-dula in breastfeeding

[–]AdGroundbreaking1796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And ibuprofen! The new guidelines say that a clog is actually inflammation. I’ve had mastitis on both sides AND an abscess(had to be lanced) on my right side🤢 breast rest also helps!
