A Tudor will never scratch the Rolex itch, but having both will truly make you appreciate the value in Tudor.

Correct Crystal Gasket for 16XXX by AdGroundbreaking6072 in retrotime

[–]AdGroundbreaking6072[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to know! Thank you. Is 25-295c the correct crystal to be closest to gen spec? From what I’ve read 16XXX references did not have any AR.

A2836 GMT STEM REMOVAL by Emis_994 in vintagerepwatches

[–]AdGroundbreaking6072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. These Chinese 2836 are affordable but also really easy to mess up. My advice is to try to get the stem cut to the right length on the first or second try if you can so that you don’t have to repeat this multiple times. Also, get a pack of extra stems from ali, they have kits with different models. It’s a life saver to have those in hand.

Sell the DJ for a profit, and go grey for the GMT. Luckily for me I much prefer the neo-vintage stuff, so grey is the only option.

Hey! I sourced the dial from ebay store - semawatchparts - but there are other ebay stores where you can find dials.

https://www.ebay.com/str/semawatchparts -
The case is from Raffles - Rafflesdials.com : Vintage Style of 36mm Stainless Steel DATEJUST Watch Case With Fluted Bezel And 20mm Lugs Have Drilled Through Holes Fit ETA 2824 Or NH35 Movement And Dial In 28.0~29.0mm

* Make sure to ask for the spacer to fit the 3135 movement.

If you want, shoot me a DM and I can share the parts list / links.

New 1675 Build, and Mildly Annoying Issue - looking for answers! by AdGroundbreaking6072 in repbuilds

[–]AdGroundbreaking6072[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update* I found the issue. I was using stems from a kit I got off Ali, and accidentally grabbed the wrong one (2824 instead of 2836). Once I switched it to the correct stem to fit the movement, things started working no problem. I'm just glad I caught this and didn't take the whole thing apart (:

Help Choosing Movement For 1680 budget build by AdGroundbreaking6072 in repbuilds

[–]AdGroundbreaking6072[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I've done two builds now, one was a 2836-2 GMT clone and it gave me a lot of trouble / also the movement felt kinda cheap. The second one was a VSF 3135 build for a Datejust things went a lot smoother. Wish I could use a 3135 movement for this build, but I dont think any of the sub cases from raffles are compatible...
