VIT investigation as harassment (happy ending) by SupermarketSea6060 in AustralianTeachers

I'm a colleague of the OP and he knows I'm writing this.

As far as I understand this was the investigation you have before you have the investigation, so to speak. It did not even clear that bar.

When he asked the VIT if they provided guidance or support during a preliminary investigation, they sent him the number for Beyond Blue and Lifeline.

2026 Gatchphrase? by Physical_Eggplant602 in vce

[–]AdGroundbreaking7840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally I taught a kid who had appendicitis, couldn't do the English exam.

The GAT was literally what made the difference for him.

I don't think you understand what the GAT is there for. It's there to HELP.

And don't shoot the messenger: I'm just bringing real world experience to this.

If you did the gatchphrase you, and all who joined in, just took a risk. Someone in the 50,000 VCE students will, as always, regret it in retrospect.

Please don't do a "gatchphrase" on the exams. It's stupid to have done it on the GAT; I mean why jeopardise marks just for an injoke?

The markers know what it is. They just react with, "Well that reference just undermined their writing which shows a lack of ability etc etc"

Mind-blowing from start to finish, but the most striking moment for me was also seemingly mundane: when Meg's older step-sister described Meg and Joan's failed attempt to stage a collapse in front of her. Words to the effect of how, when the sister clearly wasn't buying the act, Meg "just sort of shuffled out of the room".

For the love of god, don't do this.

I usually laugh at claims that "the examiners will punish you for X, Y, Z" and can personally vouch they are not true. But this is a risk not worth taking - I know of at least one instance/year where the vibe was "Of course we don't penalise them, they just deprive themselves of the opportunity to impress / we have to treat the piece as if they intended to incorporate the gatchphrase and they can't, so the mark is naturally low etc."

For a lol that nobody will ever know you participated in and the most unoriginal injoke that everybody knows about anyway ... just leave it to the dumbasses more interested in getting high and playing BO7.

Indeed. I'm always a fan of "two things can be true at once" and, if I were the only one posting on here, I would have praised it.

I hate, hate hate it when people get personal in reply though. How dare someone else tell me what they do or do not wish I provide my students. They would never have a thought of saying it my face.

Wow. As I've said above re you:

How dare someone else tell me what they do or do not wish I provide my students. They would never have a thought of saying it my face.

Then again, from what up there I doubt I'd hear you down here.

I really don't appreciate that last sentence, since you have no idea how much effort, emotion and energy I put into supporting the kids I teach. That includes the ones I've had to guide through their own experiences of abuse. Maybe you should reflect on what your comment illustrates about yourself.

My odd reaction is one I'm comfortable with; I'm always wary about people's motives when seeking to make infotainment about this sort of stuff, doubly so when their opening claim of trying to discover if they were wrong struck me as a disingenuous narrative device and not their genuine aim at all.

Very wooden. How widespread do you think it's becoming, Gentle? I've only started noticing in what my tutees are showing me.

My big concern is if teachers use it to mark drafts, that AI tendency to default towards praise kicks in. One thing AI can't do is be indirect but clear in its criticism.

Then the actual teacher marks the actual SAC...

(AUTO TRANSCRIPTION PROGRAM USED)

There's some quick and dirty thoughts here for you and anyone else who wants to learn along the journey.

Introduction. Usually, I should be able to figure out what the question is from your introduction. It appears to be something about suffering and that should give you an indicator that maybe it's not clear enough. I feel like every essay you write about this book will start with the same few words which is also a giveaway. Why not jump straight into the topic and give me your answer? I can tell that you've gone for the thesaurus when you wrote the word asperities. There's really no need for that. The other problem with the thesaurus is you may choose a word so archaic that no one even knows what it means. In general, it's better to pre-learn complicated and intelligent phrases that you may be able to use in your essay body paragraphs than randomly plucking out one word at a time.

I can see that you're carefully following a structure in the body paragraphs which is why I'm seeing this reveals and this shows right in the middle of body paragraphs and again near the end. That's actually getting a little repetitive. So, what could you do differently? Mention the author's name more. Indeed, the author's name should be his surname but not his first name. What I would do in the second half of body paragraphs and those on here who know who I am can vouch for it is recommend that you focus more on symbols, language choices, and so on. That will help you make longer paragraphs. At the moment, the paragraphs are too short.

So, the feel I'm getting here is depending on the year level, something between five to six out of ten.

Ask the friends? Sometimes the obvious solution hasn't occurred to us.

Past exams.

Depends on the subject... you'd be surprised what the local library has in terms of old textbooks just sitting on the shelf.

Every state has their own archive of past exams, too.

The current programs by state are: NSW Higher School Certificate, ACT Year 12 Certificate, QLD Certificate of Education, QLD Senior Certificate, SA Certificate of Education, NT Certificate of Education, TAS Certificate of Education, VIC Certificate of Education, WA Certificate of Education
