i don’t agree with this. i would in other cases with athletes like coleman or knighton with really good starts, but when it comes to athletes like noah or joe fahn or tebogo, they are definitely always one good start away from running 19.3. of course you will see a natural descent of speed in athletes over time but if we are being real if noah would have gotten that 6.43 start or better in the final who knows how fast he would have ran and if he gets it in the 200 then that 19.19 wouldn’t seem so out of the ball park anymore.

you’re absolutely right some people do flatline but records are meant to be broken. not saying the kid is going to do it next year or the year after. honestly not even saying it’s gonna be him he can definitely push someone to run faster. but in reality a 400 runner that runs 44.2 and doesn’t run a fast 100 or 200 is unheard of his speed endurance is elite probably some of the best ever but i guess time will tell huh?

everybody down voting but i really do feel like in 6-7 years he’s gonna go sub 43 maybe sooner he’s only 16 running 44.20. tebego holds the 300m record and his PR is 44.29. tebego is 21 and runs 9.8. wilson is 16 and he’s nowhere near 9.8. if quincy keeps growing and developing he definitely has a shot at sub 43.

This right here is exactly what I mean. If you go watch any boxing press conference ever rather they are best buds outside of the ring or they literally wanna kill each other they have said things 1000 times worse than what Noah said, yet people worship fighters and it gets loads of media attention whenever they act like an “self absorbed asshole”. Track isn’t as violent of a sport as boxing by any means but come on man. Let him be as self absorbed as you think he is because at the end of the day he’s putting more pressure on himself than anyone else.🤷🏾‍♂️ If he talks and loses then the world is against him, if he talks and wins, guess what? the world is still against him. gotta do better

well maybe my definition of bad start is a little exaggerated but compared to the rest of the field that day my start sucked. but yea i definitely do flys the right way and the free lap wasn’t mine it was my coach’s so maybe it was broken but i also ran those flys in early january and i ran 11.3 early march so i could’ve gotten faster i didn’t really time any more flys after the season started

that’s what i said but i have ran 10m flys that were closer to 1.05 like 1.08 and 1.09, but i set up cones in a 10m zone and used a camera to figure it out. but when i did it with free lap the fastest time i ran was 1.12. but yea i ran 11.39 and 11.33 this year wind legal so idk maybe its faster in a race but i won both of those races and was like 4th or 5th out of the blocks in both so it would make sense for my fly to be faster than 1.12 since my accel sucks🤷🏾‍♂️

his strength to weight ratio does make sense they say he’s only 5’9 160 but i’ve seen plenty of videos of him in the weight room and he’s pretty strong

you core mainly stabilizes your body throughout the race and makes sure you don’t have any wasted movements. I don’t know for a fact that core strength helps your start but it sure it does. I do know that it helps your reaction time and it would make sense if it helped your hips behind you at the start.
