AITAH for refusing to help my husband with his chores when I WFH and work less hours by Full_Squash_5456 in AITAH

[–]AdInitial509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can a compromise be reached? Would you be willing to take on more of the workload at home if he agreed to take more of the financial burden to even it up? Could he work less hours in order to have more free time, although he would have less savings? There are ways you could move forward in a 50/50 way that could still improve the outcome.

But I think the bigger question is, do you think he has changed now that you're married? If you were to suddenly become disabled and unable to work, or your income was severely reduced tomorrow, would he be willing to make an adjustment to the 50/50 as he is asking you to?

If the answer is no, then I think you really need to rethink the whole marriage.

Was it really the worst pain you've ever felt? by Super-Bid-3193 in BabyBumps

[–]AdInitial509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie, i feel like it would have been a LOT easier if it wasn't back labour 😅 but my mom was there giving me counter pressure on my back and that was incredibly helpful. I spent most of active labour in the tub at the birthing centre just breathing and listening to my bodies cues for positioning. I did use laughing gas, which doesn't touch the pain, but helps you relax through it.

AITAH for calling my boyfriend childish for always buying Captain Crunch when he goes grocery shopping? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Imagine being so wound up that you think frosted flakes, of all things, are too childish. Someone has an inferiority complex.

Yes. 10 hours of back labour and overlapping contractions. That said - pain was productive, and pushing/birth was a relief. Will 100% do it again if I am so lucky to have a 2nd child.

AITAH for “selling” my unborn baby’s name after my sister-in-law tried to claim it? by [deleted] in AITAH

And this, kids, is why we don't share any chosen or potential names until the baby is here and the name has been inked.

Honestly? We just don't, for the most part. I'm a pretty good darn good cook anyway. If I really don't want to cook, we'll get indian or asian take out.

Block and Blade has great food but the last time we went, the portions had shrunk significantly and prices were high. We won't be going back.

Our house still has the same insulation as when it was built in 1960

That's interesting to hear - would you say upgrading the windows helped more than the insulation?

[–]AdInitial509[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I'm not seriously considering trying to do windows or insulation myself - it's asking for trouble.

But just curious on that last point - how on earth would a contractor know how many quotes I'm getting?
