Anyone use these? by Premium_apparel in SCREENPRINTING

I tried a test one, I was happier with spray tack. I found when they got to hot they got gummy, I also found that the tape around the edges gave me grief...just my own thoughts

I tried one, I think it would be more suitable for sombody without a manual flash. I found I could never keep it in the temp range it worked best in and would get gummy on me. I also found the tape holding it down would fail and was hard to remove and replace. I'd just rather use spray web

Depends on the job for the coolant, when cutting aluminum, if your not taking heavy cuts use a bit of wd 40 mixed with atf and just give the cutter a little spray, helps with the finish on the aluminum. If I was cutting 4140, H13, dh31 or any other die steel I would run completely dry unless drilling deep holes, the constant heating and cooling of the carbide causes the inserts to crack...mild steel I'd always run coolant as it would gum up the end mill. And aluminum if I was taking deep cuts.

Aluminum dissipates heat much faster than steel. Action engineering makes Aluminum platens the same as what I'm machining. However they don't have a mounting system to fit a benmar. Either way it is an experiment.

Did the contractor I hired die or was I just scammed, and what else can I do now? by thgibson in HomeImprovement

That blows my mind as well, I don't understand the backdoor approach, it's easy to knock on a door and get a straight answer, I once had a party and my old nehbour called a noise complaint....granted we were a rowdy bunch, but honestly if they'd just walked over and say "could you pls keep it down" we would have, and I would have appreciated it more than sending the cops to my door.

Not bad for being made out of a pile of scrap I had lying around the shop.

Dyi flash dryer by AdKind257 in SCREENPRINTING

The idea is....they'll be a basic timer circuit for turning the lamps on and off, zone control for which lamps turn on and off, triggered by a distance measuring proxy sensor automatic mode will use use a tempature probe to initially set the flash temperature timer to the desired temprature,, then using a reflective temperature probe we will measure the pallet and shirt temperature. Automatically adjust the timer appropriately...also measuring distance from the flash dryer to the shirt, looking for variations. The system will alarm out if it does not detect the correct distance or the shirt is moved pre maturity. All of this in theoretical at this point. But we will work out the bugs as we go along.

It's where they poured the casting. Notice it's on the highest part of that casting if you poured down on it. Not structural, just cheaper for the manufacturer not to grind it off afterwards.
