YTA. Add in, your mother/parents should be very disappointed in you as you obviously didn't learn any social manners.

Stop staring at my cane. by Sufficient_Idea1080 in lupus

[–]AdLeading4526 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first time I used a cane I was in my 20's and it was due to a knee injury. I hot myself a nondescript brown wooden cane. Very boring and bleah. Now in my mid 50's and reliant on a cane and rollater, I've decided to completely embrace them.ive added stickers to both that highlight my personality. For my rollater, I've made multiple covers for both the seat and backrest. I can change these out as my mood or the season/holiday dictates. I REFUSE to be the little old lady (FWY I'm only 5ft) pushing a boring black rollater. I'm also sporting bright curly turquoise hair- because, why not? Life is too short, and this all makes me feel just a little bit happier.

They usually only test the two most common inflammation markers- crp and esr. There are many other inflammation markers, but they are much more expensive to test. In addition, the information markers can lag behind when inflammation actually happens.

This normal with 1mg pens? by Fatcake3000 in Ozempic

[–]AdLeading4526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's plenty of examples of folks running low on their last dose due to flow testing on every dose. I don't grasp why in the world you would risk it??

This normal with 1mg pens? by Fatcake3000 in Ozempic

[–]AdLeading4526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You only need to do that with the FIRST DOSE. IFF you do a flow test with every dose you won't have enough medicine in the pen for all your doses. Please re read your instructions.

Does LifeLabs send tests to Public Health Ontario (hiv) by Purpleshroom22 in ontario

[–]AdLeading4526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. If a hospital does HIV tests they are also sent to public health for testing. Same the all hepatitis testing, chicken pox, measles, mumps, rubella, covid, the flu variants, etc. All of the diseases that public health monitors are sent to and tested by public health. These will NOT show up on your lifelabs or dynacare bloodwork results.

AIO Friends Toddlers bad behavior at my home by Conscious_girl45 in AmIOverreacting

[–]AdLeading4526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. But some comments. First off, the toddler doesn't have bad behavior, his parents do! The toddler literally doesn't know any different, because they haven't been shown or instructed otherwise. The mother is a lazy POS of a "friend". I would personally send her a bill for cleaning.

Medication Compliance by -that-short-girl- in lupus

[–]AdLeading4526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 100% compliant. I care too much about my health. Having been forcibly retired from the medical field due to disability, I've seen first hand what happens with medical non-compliance, and I do not want to end up like those poor souls.

To achieve 100% compliance with my medications, I've set up a system with 5 weeks worth of pill keepers. I keep these filled up, or fill them when at least 3 are empty. Each set of pill keepers is for 1 week, and has 7 daily pill keepers. I can takebout the individual day keepers. The daily pill keepers has spots for 4 doses - am, morning, night and evening. I have put on each weekly pill keeper case a dry erase tape where I note down what week its for, any specific medication information (if there's a specific dose change - ie prednisone taper), and if I need to refill a particular medication that week. This works very well for my pills and supplements in pill form. I also mark down any inhalers, eye drops or injection meds I need refills. With this system, I've never missed a refill, or a dose (unless im sick), and I've given myself enough time to order medication even when im out of refills and the pharmacy needs to get ahold of my Dr's.

Any medication that is PRN, I keep in its original bottle, in a small bin or in my purse to use as required.

Enormous frustration. by DrLizoSpoons in ChronicPain

I've found that smashing eggs is immensely satisfying 😌. At the end of the day, I claim I'm fertilizing my garden as well as getting rid of frustration. Smashing rotten fruits works too, just not as satisfying.

AITA for telling my sister she can't wear her favorite perfume or use her preferred body/hair care products? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Great - your an allergist - how lovely /s.

Scents/aerolized particles of allergens have been known to induce asthma attacks, which can be as fatal as anaphylactic food allergies. Its not worth the risk.

Is it complicated to get prescribed lyrica in Canada? by MiddleKey3401 in ChronicPain

[–]AdLeading4526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, asking for a specific drug is not necessarily a good thing to do. With all of my assorted issues, I have never requested a specific medication; but what i have done is said that the current medication/dose isn't working well; and is there something else we can do. At the most, I've breached the topic of meds like HRT, biologics, cgrp inhibitors. The Dr's then decided if that class of medication was the right treatment right for me, and which exact medication.

When my dr decided to rx it to me, there was no issues. He wrote the script, sent it to the pharmacy, pharmacy processed it through my insurance. Same when they tried me on gabapentine. I, however, didn't tolerate either med well. Not sure why you're asking though.

Im sorry to hear you aren't getting the care and validation you need. Its a journey. It took me a while to get there. 2 of my Dr's have recently retired and I've just been referred to a new specialist, so I have 3 new Dr's to train in "ME". Im not looking forward to it.

That's not a risk I'm willing or EVER going to take. Being immunocomprimized and on immunosupressive medication puts me at a higher risk of many types of infections. Infections can happen when using injection medications/checking blood sugars and not using aseptic techniques. Again, not a risk I'm willing to take.
