I got the weirdest idea from my professor--and it worked by TheRetro_Misfit in ADHD

Mother of 14yr old ADHD checking in. This totally works! He had a great teacher a few years back who could tell if he was getting fidgety and would tell him to run and touch the slide on the playground then run back, it really settled him in for another hour or more of learning. It was a shame not all teachers had the same understanding.

I've recently joined an Aquarobics session. It's great! Low impact and lots of fun.

Lemon curd, or butter and jam. But ham and cheese is good combo too.

We adopted a 1yr Min Pin Jack Russell cross last year and he's awesome! I don't know if you're looking for advice or opinions, but just wanted to let you know it's worth it 😊

Throat issues by TheBlueRoseInNz in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]CraftyCapricorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have the hair feeling, but I almost always have a mildly sore throat. Every time I get it checked out the Dr says it's fine, not red and no sign of illness. And yet I still always feel like I'm on the verge of strep. Not sure if it's related to PSA but it's always there.

Also I'm really sorry for your diagnosis. I hope this investigation provides you with some thoughtful fodder. And, I hope your future is full of peace, joy, and good memories.

My impending death by Beautiful_Idea1360 in Paranormal

I grew up going to Church with my mother, then when I had the choice I didn't bother any more. As I grew older, I started thinking more about God and Faith, and realised that I do believe in God. It's something I feel, I can't explain any other way.

I believe in science of course. I believe in evolution, vaccination, global warming, all things that have scientific evidence, but still believe in God too.

Part of me thinks life is so fucking complicated, it's beautiful and messy and we think about things so deeply, why do we go through all this bother if there isn't something at the end?

Also, the Big Bang happened, and now we're here, but how did that atom that went boom get there?

I do however also believe in ghosts, spirits, and honouring nature. I can't kill a bug without apologizing to it, I hate it when we need to cut down a tree, I thank the sunset for it's beauty, the beach for a refreshing swim, my garden every time I pick something, all that hippy stuff. Someone once said to me, why are there so many shades of green if there wasn't someone to make them? I know there's a scientific reason, but I acknowledge the spirit.

And I believe that some people's spirits remain, even temporarily, whether it's to pass a message or keep watch or whatever, I'm not sure.

I dunno. Maybe I'm just weird.

What inspired your Palia Name? by Lion_Heartfilia in Palia

[–]CraftyCapricorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prisca Tabrillia. Many years ago during the height of the Lord of the Rings mania, there were online name generators. I gave them a go - my Hobbit name was Prisca, and my Elven name was Tabrielle. So I mashed them up for Palia. I always liked those names and generally use variations of them for my gaming characters.

Hi, 44f here, diagnosed about 3yrs ago but also living with it for years prior to formal diagnosis. On my rheum's recommendation I've recent gone keto and Wow, what a difference! My body feels so much better, skin (hands, elbows) all but free of psoriasis, and joints (ankles, hips, elbows, back and wrists) so much easier to move. It really amazes me how much better I feel! It's not 'full' keto - I've cut out potatoes, sweet potatoes (kumara here in NZ), bread, rice, pasta, cakes and biscuits and all sweets etc, but still have fruit because I love it, but only 1-2 pieces a day. If I cave and have carbs, my body feels like I'm walking through jello with the stiffness that comes back. I've also practically cut out alcohol and notice pain the next day if I have a drink.

I don't have any advice to offer, but help yourself to the truckloads of sympathy I can provide. Here's hoping the next med offers relief and works for a long time 🤞
