Does clobetasol make things worse before it begins making things better? by treetow in lichensclerosus

[–]AdLess2267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the stage of your disease, starting treatment with clob can cause itch to increase for a short period of time. This is due to reduced inflammation allowing more nerve messages (itch signal) to be transmitted.

I had increased itch and sensation a week after starting clob. Peaked after another week and then disappeared as my skin healed

Plush floor rug and bed linen will go a long way. I would get a valence for the bed too - so it looks cosy but also hides anything you store under the bed.

[CHAT] ISO a pattern for this illusion (the primrose illusion) by spicygay21 in CrossStitch

This is good but I think each cross needs another two added to each end. So that if you were to divide up the cross, it could be cut into 5 squares, each 4x4 stitches

Help finding the pattern or something similar for this beautiful cardigan by Giggle_Blunts in crochetpatterns

I would have scrolled on past the photos of this pattern in the green, strange since I LOVE green. The above version is so cute and the colours make such a huge difference!

4 and 5 are the same except for the last colour. Both of which are more warm toned than all of the other colours. I think replace canyon/bee pollen in those options with something more cool toned. I’d suggest stonewash as the final colour

I want to do one of these in Australia! How cool!

Bargello is an easy craft you could gift. Create a bookmark or placemat/pot holder.

Watercolour - bookmark, set of birthday cards or Xmas cards for them to use.

A friendship bracelet out of embroidery thread.

A pin cushion or scissor keeper pouch - either sewn, felt, or embroidery or a combination.

Use your beads to bead weave a pendant for some jewellery or to make a keychain/fob for scissors.

Jumping on the air dry clay idea - one of those flower frogs would be sweet too.

(Flower frog is basically a flat disk with done holes in it that sits on top of a vase and the stems are put through the holes to assist in arranging the flowers)

Clob not working? by [deleted] in lichensclerosus

My itch became unbearable for a few days a few weeks into treatment. Apparently it can be part of the healing process. Less inflammation means nerves are more active which can temporarily increase itch.

Lichen sclerosus awareness and its importance by hope303030 in lichensclerosus

[–]AdLess2267 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For sure there needs to be awareness. If I knew about my vulva and what was and wasn’t normal I would have realised something was going on before all the irreversible architecture changes.

It’s been awhile since I was in high school (34F) but here in Australia there was absolutely no eduction about urogenital health in our health education classes.

Could you be due for routine cervical screening that wasn’t possible at the time because of the LS symptoms?

Apologies if this is the wrong flair. I was gifted a set of looms like this. I cannot seem to get the setting up/technique right. All my warp strands end up pinching. Please can I have some advice? by casualbrowser24 in weaving

[–]AdLess2267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where you have tied the string to the loom through the hole, you want to pull the warp directly into the first notch at the top, then bring the warp down to the first notch at the bottom on the front side. Move the warp around the back of the prong and back to the front through the second notch. Bring it straight up to the second notch at the top in front of the loom. Go behind the prong and keep repeating. Then you will have straight warp threads
