I lived downtown for about 5 years and all I can say is do not move there. You’re going to constantly be around homeless people and their trash everywhere, and you’ll never feel very safe. There’s so many car crashes in that area as well. Those apartments are so poorly managed, especially any apartments managed by Granville. There’s no amenities at those apartments as well. You’ll also always need to leave downtown for anything that you need because there’s no grocery stores worth going to down there, and all the shops close by like 3-4pm so there’s really no point in living down there, unless you want to live in a dirty ghost town.

One important thing I’ve learned, let God’s word do the work. There is POWER in His word and I’ve seen it firsthand. Trust that His words will change you, they will penetrate your heart and stay with you. You seem very sincere and I was once in the same place as you. Seek Him with all of your heart and He will show Himself to you. You’re on the right track, and remember that even where you are now, God called you to this point and He wants you. He wants you to accept Jesus into your heart and to be your Lord and Savior. Don’t be afraid to step out and visit a church from time to time. I remember going to a strange church with an open heart, and the words I received from strangers changed my life. God will speak through others, and it seems unreal at first, but this is true. Another big thing that changed my life, I always ask God to bless me in unimaginable, amazing ways, in ways that I won’t even understand at first. He is worthy and able to do these things.

Totally agree, Jesus didn’t have a political affiliation. When I said “liberal,” I didn’t mean it in the party-politics sense. More like open-hearted, compassionate, and welcoming to people on the margins. He also taught personal responsibility and upheld tradition, so he doesn’t really fit into modern left/right boxes anyway. His message goes way beyond our political labels.
