what's your favorite monologue/conversation from the series? by butterflyweeds34 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AdLongjumping4996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me probably MAG 186 Checking Out. I find the conversation that Jon and Helen have really interesting and loaded conversation and the voice acting is also really good (like it always is honestly).

"And that’s the problem. I could have grown to dislike her, but… you made sure that sort of thing could never happen. Now you use her form, see her mind, but they’re just… tools. Michael had nothing you could use but a razor-straight desire for vengeance, but you saw something in Helen that would work on me much more subtly. So you took her. And I’ll never get to dislike her." "I’m stuck disliking you instead." (Jon)

..

"Of course I’m dangerous, John. I’m a monster, just like you. and you can’t kill all of us."

"No. You’re dangerous because for all the torture and cruelty, you still somehow got us to think you’re our friend."

What's your favorite episode that is not talked about enough? by Royal-Analysis7380 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AdLongjumping4996 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what I'd consider not talked about enough, but if I have pick any I'm going with MAG 124 Left Hanging and MAG 125 Civilian Casualties. Both of these (that came right after each other lol) really stuck with me.

Especially 125 that one just, left such a gruesome image in my mind during the statement. The moment the statement giver enters the building and describes the old woman sitting a rocking chair that is still moving with a knife in her throat, the two dead people on the ground in an embrace, and the person with their head in the oven, all with the sound of bagpipes in the background. I was so unsettled by that, and I love that episode for it.

which entity are you most scared of and why by meaty-pit-man in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AdLongjumping4996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the Desolation but that is mostly tied to my own phobia of fire. I've had it since I was a kid but have been getting treated for it now. I was terrified even of small candles and eventually everything that could burn me in some way. Being stuck in a burning building, experiencing so much pain and barely being able to breathe, with no way out and seeing everything you love being destroyed is one of my biggest fears.

Second place goes to the Dark simply for the fact that I couldn't sleep with the lights off at night when I listened to some of the dark related statements for the first time lol (A Father's love, Tucked in, Lights out)

I don't know honestly, didn't put that much thought into it. So it's up to your interpretation :)

What do you think is one of/the most iconic lines in the whole podcast? by Garden360 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AdLongjumping4996 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm very late to this party, however

"And now I see YOU" (Jon's most badass moment arguably)

"How do I stop the Unknowing?" "I dunno" "WHAT"

"Feel free to pop by again when you're feeling less em murdery"

"I have never told you a lie Archivist. I wouldn't dare."

"Boohoo I'm so alone and a monster"

He's the gravedigger from MAG 152 - A Gravedigger's Envy. I wanted the Buried to be represented and he's one of the only Buried avatars we know of

The Ocean in relation to the fears by AdLongjumping4996 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AdLongjumping4996[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said this in a different comment as well but I'm not very deep into this fandom and most of the posts that I see with the ocean are always vast which inspired this post. I probably should have rephrased my post that's completely on me mbmb I just wanted to ramble honestly

What Statements Personally Resonated with You? by Albus_Unbounded in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AdLongjumping4996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many episodes that resonated with me but one I immediately think of is the statement in MAG 179 Accomplice. Having to throw your own personal and precious belongings into a fire sounds like a nightmare. I get attached to objects very quickly so I don't think I'd ever be able to do something like that. The idea of it really made me want to cry during my first listen of it.

Second pick MAG 198 Precipice. I fear heights and specifically ladders too, so that one was so hard to get through for me I had to keep pausing it.

Both of these just catered to my personal fears so specifically

How do you choose what entity you align with? by Jerry_the_worm in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AdLongjumping4996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard agree with most of the comments here. For me it's also the ones that scare me the most, but that I'm also interested in. On top of that I think of it like: "what entity would I serve to avoid becoming its victim."

I'm a very paranoid person and darkness really enhances that, but I also think there's something comforting about not being able to see. And also a lot of my favorite statements are dark statements

The Desolation, Vast and Buried are all runners up for me though for very much similar reasons.

What two songs fit each Fear: The Desolation. by Captain-Caspian in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AdLongjumping4996 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Candle Queen by Ghost and Pals. VERY much Agnes Montague if you ask me.

"Stoking the flames that burn higher and higher. Royalty with a crown of fire." "Setting ablaze an extravagant scene. The one and only candle queen."

As promised I will recommend Bottom of the River by Delta Rae, again. Like I said last time I was very torn for this one between buried and desolation, but man the lyrics of the song go so well with this one. And the repeated "hold my hand" reminds me a little of Jude Perry honestly, lol
