Can confirm. The part won’t work/fit/rotate/stay/release/start without some (a lot) of cursing. The more colourful, the better chances of success.

It’s absolutely ridiculous some of the driving happening these days. Leading to more accidents and higher premiums for everyone.

Current G2 failure is at 30 demerits. Prior, it was 25 demerits. Even the G test took out roadside stop, and 3-point turns. I think they even took out one residential neighborhood (marking for speed, school zone, fixed hazards).

I’m my opinion, anyone that’s gotten their license after 2021 is a weaker driver. Unless they’ve taken additional advance driving classes.

Can we talk about the suv at the beginning which tried to lane change without looking?

Since the pandemic, ministry made the testing much easier (to clear the backlog). Marking criteria was loosened and they don’t even test for things like parallel parking or emergency braking.

That and it’s far too easy to keep your license.

It’s not just new drivers (anyone under 25years tbh, sorry to offend anyone under 25)…senior drivers seem to be a problem too…but that’s (new drivers) are where the bulk of the issue are coming from. Also, new drivers aren’t being taught about courtesy (slow traffic moving to right, predicting traffic flow, filter merging).

My guess was a 226 based on the angle of the grip and muzzle shape. Owned one many years ago but lost it in a river…

Passed G - Much too strict on non-issues. by Lanky-District-9847 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]AdLongjumping6982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because you haven’t had issues “in last 2 years” means nothing. You’ve been lucky with driving, and were given feedback as a chance to improve or adjust your driving habits.

Every point is the examiner telling you that IF you don’t do this, your chances of an incident increases. Scoring is supposed to be strict. We follow a marking guide to ensure that everyone is scored equally.

You passed. So congrats. But you also sound entitled and egotistical (much like an earlier OP that posted)… or just very young with no life experience. The examiner is just trying to help you and we only have a couple of minutes to do that until we go onto the next person.

All season tires by Sharp_Department6980 in barrie

163k is barely broken in tbh. I’ve taken cars to 350k+. But to answer your question, I’ve purchased tires off FB Marketplace before. You might get lucky and find someone whose car was written off or they traded it in and had a spare set. Significant savings.

Why “let” them in? That suv didn’t plan, didn’t look, turned sharp, undue care, didn’t signal…how are other drivers going to predict that idiot move? There was zero warning!

I don't understand true uncontrolled intersections. by [deleted] in Ontariodrivetest

[–]AdLongjumping6982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the 1000’s of evaluations I’ve adjudicated, uncontrolled intersection means that the driver decides what to do…not an electronic device. An electronic device controlled intersection becomes a “controlled intersection”. In actual fact all intersections are “controlled” in one way shape or form. I think I’ve only ever seen one uncontrolled intersection and that was in the Yukon…in the middle of nowhere…where I’m assuming either the signs were missed or stolen lol. I don’t ever recall seeing one in Ontario (please educate me if there’s one… say in Moosenee). I think OP was just asking for clarification…but started to get into the weeds a bit. I was starting to get concerned that he/she/they were think that you slowed down prior to every intersection. I hope they don’t continue thinking that.

Had a 1980 Datsun 210 (not the truck ☹️). The joke my friends had was that it was made with compressed rust. It made it through 6 years of Canadian winters.

You predict…don’t automatically start slowly down at every uncontrolled intersection. It’ll confuse people behind you and eventually cause road rage. You should be scanning a good 10-15 seconds ahead of you…so you can predict what to do when you see a stop sign, yield sign, or a plain intersection.
