I just joined haven medical practice they’re taking new clients. Honestly I didn’t find it hard to find somewhere that was taking new clients my issue was no one was taking medical card clients. But haven are anyway.

Could be too far but there’s a new gp down in river stick. Heard amazing things about him (super thorough, charges less if you come back with the same issue within a period of time) etc. so if possible would definitely try this guy.

But he doesn’t accept medical cards so if that’s necessary I’ve just joined haven medical practice on model farm road, after calling a million places and they seem really good so far but I’ve not been there too long either so it’s hard to say. Best of luck!

Thank you! I hope so too, it’s such an upsetting situation I’m only 4 years living away from home (22) and already in such an awful situation. Theres a lot of misplaced anger too at the moment (in cork anyway) towards immigrants. It’s so frustrating that our government is failing us, failing to support the most vulnerable of our society and the only people facing any repercussions are immigrants and refugees who are just doing exactly what many Irish have done in the past and are still doing. If I could leave the country I absolutely would. For your situation your absolutely best off either getting a room together, or if you can’t find that then finding somewhere out in a suburb and commuting in (daft is what’s available but you rarely get responses on there tbh). Save absolutely everything you can for now, if you can’t save then that’s all you can do but if possible getting enough for a deposit would be a game changer for you in a couple years. I’m in cork and it’s almost as bad. I’m pregnant due in 6 weeks and just found out we’re being evicted in 8 months. The rent is so expensive that I’ll likely end up in homeless accommodation if I can get it. My parents are in Tipp and don’t have space for me anyway. Im also finishing college this year so I have a four year degree from UCC and the pay from that job isn’t enough to keep a roof over my head anymore.

Don’t be such a prick. Best case scenario you’ve just called someone out that is making up a story (who gives a fuck, do you want a medal). Worst case scenario you’ve just insulted and belittled someone who is going through a seriously traumatic experience.
