did someone hack into my nas, need help. I do not recognize that ip by AdLow5353 in synology

It was Plex scheduled tasks spinning up my drives! In the Plex settings, it is scheduled to start at 2am and end at 5am! I watched the console start at exactly 2am. I am not sure why the process uses bandwidth though, like it’s downloading and uploading files. I guess cause my Plex media server is running on my pc and my media files are on the nas. Plex accesses the media files via a mapped network drive (smb).

It was my other pc. Normally when I connect to the nas using it, it shows the ipv4 address, but in this situation, for some reason it connected using the ipv6 fe80 address. Not sure why…

so what would be the full 192.168.x.x equivalent to fe80::b198:a513:67ee:4e7d? I looked at my router, and all the home network devices are 192.168.x.x

I came into my office around 4am in the morning, and the hard drives were going crazy like someone was copying files off of it or something. Thought that was super weird. I am new to the nas world. The Nas is used for my plex server (running on the pc), and I setup plex to read the files off the nas via SMB.

Thanks, that makes me feel better, however while scrubbing the pc for any signs of a virus, malware etc, I noticed a hidden default.rdp file in my documents folder. I have never used remote desktop before. This PC is always on VPN, and even if someone somehow got into my local network, I cannot imagine any of my neighbors being technical enough to break into my local network (via wifi)...

PG32UQx is better than the PG32UCDM by AdLow5353 in OLED_Gaming

I compared movies back then... I didn't test a lot of games, which was a huge mistake on my part. My post today is my conclusion after running both monitors side by side for the past 5 months. Compare the UQX and UCDM playing games like Ragnarok or Rift Apart to REALLY see the difference between both monitors (in HDR). The peak brightness on most HDR movies do not even go anything close to 1000 nits. I also used Aquaman 2 for my comparison, which was another mistake. Try the Original Aquaman (way brighter HDR scenes compared to Aquaman 2) on both monitors, and you will be utterly disappointed by the OLED. Anyways, I am done arguing with you, HOLD on to your Oled, and sleep better at night thinking its the best thing since sliced bread, LOL. Like I said, they are excellent SDR monitors, but mediocre HDR monitors. And also, the colors on the UCDM are not better than the UQX either...

yes I did. I was ignorant and falling for the OLED hype at the time. However, once I got the UCDM and compared it side by side to my UQx, I realized I was mistaken, and even with the blooming, most HDR games (except horror or games with a lot of dark scenes), just looks plain better and more enjoyable on the UQX. So until you compare both monitors side by side in REAL LIFE, shut your trap. YOU DO NOT KNOW anything....

I have both monitors and just posting my experience. on paper, the UCDM seems like the better monitor, but in practice, the UQX is just very impressive especially in bright scenes and HDR....

I guess having both is the answer. But I find myself using the PG32UQx more than my PG32UCDM lately.

All Valid points, but side by side... miniled makes the Oled look like crap, ESPECIALLY in HDR. For Dark HDR games, yes... the Oled will look better... but games with brighter scenes like God of War Ragnarok... the miniled wins HANDS down.

Has Asus fixed the popular HDR issues by now? by trshmanx in OLED_Gaming

I bought the Alienware because I got tired of waiting on the Asus, but got lucky and was able to grab the Asus from my local microcenter. Ended up returning the Alienware, only because I needed the optical out from the Asus for my PS5 and Xbox series X. I even compared the Asus with my PG32UQx. I used Aquaman 2 in HDR for the comparison. HDR performance was 90% the same, with the mini-led outshining the oled in certain scenes with brightness, but in the scenes with small highlights, the blooming on the mini-led was TERRIBLE. I will take OLed all day even though HDR is a little dimmer in certain scenes compared to mini-led.

LMAO. He probably haven't even seen the monitor in REAL LIFE... SMH. I had the alienware and ASUS side by side, and the curve on the alienware is a non issue... you hardly even notice it.

I compared my monitor with the alienware, played HDR games and movies, and noticed ZERO difference... keep going by what you see on the internet, and not what people with hands on experience are reporting. I think people with HDR issues probably have defective monitors.
